Washed the car today and noticed something.... Pic

Right on the edge of the quarter panel next to the trunk... it's like the paint was just removed. It's perfectly smooth. I wonder if I rubbed something against the paint when putting something in the trunk, but I doubt it. I wondered if this was from the pressure washer, but I checked all over the car and this is the only place on the whole car that has something like this, and I've washed my other two cars there much more than I've washed this one there, and they are fine paint wise. I don't know how long this has been there, I very well may have seen it before and never noticed it though.... I might have even picked it up from BMW with this there and not noticed yet, the car is only 4 months old.



This is the best pic I could get, the car is in my garage at the moment, and digicams take bad pictures at night without a tripod.



Any ideas? :confused:

Was your car prepped by the dealer? Theveed showed us a rotary buffer burn mark that looks strikingly similar to that. Could have been a slip by the prep person. It's easier to burn through an edge. I think it's time to talk to that dealer. :(
 
My bumper of my GTI has two spots that are very much like that right near the hatch edge. It's very hard to explain where it is, but it's just like the paint was nicked off.. I'm not sure how it hapened.. looks about the same though.

See I wasn't there when I prepped it - I had to go to Waterfest with my GTI, so I didn't see what they did.



And I guess my case will be kinda hard to prove since I Just noticed it now 4 months later....



I forgot to take a picture today, so I'll take one tomorrow during the day.
