Wash, Polish, Wax

This is probably a very stupid question to you guys, but are there certain washes and waxes that do better on certain colors? I have a hunter green vehicle, and I was just wondering.

Thanks

i dont really think there are any washes for certain colors. but there are certainw ashes made for certain waxes. like zaino for instance. i mainly use nxt soap for everytime i wash my car. id say nxt is safe for all finshes/waxes.

as for certain waxes being better for certian colors. yes. pinnacle paste glaz was/is made for metallic light finshes while souveran was more aimed toward dark colors. a carnuba will always bring out the glow and wetness of a dark paint while a synthetic will always gloss up a light colored vehicle. but as u soon may notice,

certain combos of sealants and carnubas capture both.

I use Meguires Gold class wash right now...is that any good?

So I would use a carnuba on hunter green?

From my experience, carnuabas tend to look best on dark solid
or metallic colors. Sealants tend to look better on light
solid and metallic colors.

IMO gold class is one of the best otc washes I've used.
It depends on the look you're after.. like what joyride said, some waxes look better on certain colors, and so does sealants. Personally, I would use a sealant topped with a carnauba :D
Souveran will look good on your car :)

IMHO i dont like gold class. I switched to NXT wash. Gold class doesnt have enough suds and lubrication for what i like. THere is no right wash though. Everyone has there own opinion and favorite.

A great car wash will work fine on any color. When it comes to waxes and sealants... some products look "better" or "different" on certain colors/metallics. Of course the "better" part depends on who is doing the "looking".............. personal preference.

The personal preference is definitely a factor. I have used several sealants, several waxes, a combination of carnauba topping a sealant and felt they all looked good. The only product that I really felt "changed" the appearance of the paint was Meg's NXT Tech Wax on a Bright Red Pontiac. It seemed to look a little darker with the NXT. Not necessarily a bad thing, just what you like/dislike.
Right now, I'm back to my Klasse AIO as a base for 4 Star UPP and the look is as good as anything I have tried.
I have used it on bright red, maroon, white, silver, and very dark metallic blue and the look is great, (IMO), on any of them.

As far as car washes, I'm using Meg's Gold Class and have no complaints, but I think I will have to try the NXT wash after hearing all the good things about it.
FWIW, I don't think I have ever used a bad car wash.

Gold Class is a good car shampoo, but I like NXT better. For your green vehicle maybe try some EX, Sourvan, Butter Wax, Trade Secret this is all subjective so buy a few different products and experiment.

Another vote for NXT car wash (works well for me and I can get it local)

I have a deep Jewel Green metalic and I'm happy with EX topped with Natty's,
Then I tried it again with EX and topped with Signature wax.
A different look but I like them both.

Most choices of the products boil down to personal prefference like boss and Charles say.

Good Luck and happy experimenting
