Wash mitts...inside or outside?

As I was reading a thread about wash mitts with or without cuffs this thought occured to me. How many DC member actually put there hand inside the mitt when using a wash mitt? Wether it is sheepskin or MF?

I know that with the fat hands that I have it was a pain to try and wiggle in and out of the wash mitt.

inside, i am a butter-finger type and drop it if I dont, escpecially with SSS

Inside..........my mitt has elastic loops to put my fingers thru so there is no worry about dropping it

Guess I am a rare breed, use the inside of the mitt with traditional two bucket method. when I use QEW or OPT NR I use the outside and fold it in half so I get 4 clean surfaces before I rinse. I also like the fact that I can keep very little pressure if I have it folded in half and just lightly rub the mitt on the surface. btw great thread :howdy

I never put my hand in the mitt. I usually try to fill up the mitt with suds & water (the balloon technique I learned from a very knowledgable DC member) and lightly drag the mitt across the surface of the paint. Can't do that with your hand in the mitt.

pretty much what do also ,the more foam/water I can use the better.
I never put my hand inside the mitt.

IMO holding on the outside makes a mitt useless. Why not just fold a towel a few times?

I hold it on the outside. I never like the feeling of it as an actual mitt.

I like to hold it on the outside. This way I can just flip it over and voila a clean mitt. Really cuts down on dipping into the bucket.

A towel doesn't have the plushness and safety of sheepskin.

Palming the mitt on the outside makes the concept of a mitt useless, but not the function of the sheepskin mitt. You can still wash effectively whether you stick your hand in it, or on top of the mitt.

I get better control palming the mitt, having that hand free to move about where I choose without taking it out of the mitt and then putting it back in. I can also do a free rinse better in the water bucket.

Its a matter of preference and what feels right ergonomiclly to the washer.

I voted for sometimes in and sometimes out. I don't use either exclusively but lean heavily more towards using it outside the mitt.

I think I am able to 'glide' the mit over the paint better on the outside. When my hand is in, I feel that I push harder on the paint with less thickness which makes me think I might mar.
