28# kitty litter buckets.



I have two big poop generators so I end up with more buckets than anyone has a right to.



Maybe I should try the twenty bucket washing technique. :D

The Red "fireman's" hat tub from Wal-Mart.

And, a red calibrated 4 or 5 gallon double sided one from Lowes.
 
I use four 5 gallon bucket: 1 with drilled holes in the bottom inside another intact one----this setup on both sides of the car to hold rise water only. Soap is distributed with a foam gun



2 3 gallon buckets: one for soiled mitts, one for holding clean,fresh mitts



For someone using only buckets to wash with: soap in one, water in another I'd recomment at least 2 5 gallon buckets
 
Several 5qt ice cream buckets. One for paint, one for wheels/tires, and a couple for WWs / CWB, one for rinse bucket.



In winter I might have 3 or more rinse buckets, depending on the soiling on the vehicle.
 
I am using a square sided kitty litter pail. It's tall and narrow... probably 5 gallons. I fill it with 2 gallons of water and the soap du jour. Oh, I have made custom made Grit-Guard resting in the bottom :xyxthumbs

I've got 2 5 gallon buckets. One from K-Mart, the other from Home Depot. I use the HD one as the soap and water bucket and the KMart one as my rinse bucket.
 
I use (2) 2 gallon buckets, but I clicked 1 gallon by mistake! Anyway, I find it more efficient to replace a smaller bucket of water than a larger one, and to me both small and large buckets seem to get dirty at the same time anyway.

but since i've discovered QEW, 1 gallon bucket for the QEW, the 5 gallon one for rinsing the wash mitt. side note: getting QEW here in Hawaii is hard because of the shipping cost, it's almost the same price as the product! ranney was nice enough to give me about 8 oz. and i love it! :xyxthumbs

Bill, you just made my day. A nice bolt of lightning out of the sky!



I just ordered a foam gun and two GritGuards for my two 5-gallon buckets . But when I bought the GritGuards, I was thinking of rinsing the mitts twice. But having a clean bucket on each side of the car is a BIG plus!



And, I didn't even think about buckets for my mitts. (Duh!)

Ditto (though my grit guard is not homemade)!! :xyxthumbs I use the red/orange ones you can get at Pep Boys.
 
I use 2 five gallon and 1 2.5 gallon. 1 five gallon for paint the other for rinse and the 2.5 for wheels. I'm looking to get a grid guard soon.
 
I use a 2 gallon bucket for wheels & tires, a 3 gallon Black Magic bucket with grit guard for washing and a 5 gallon bucket for rinsing
 
I've gone to using only 1 bucket for the paint....instead of using an additional bucket to rinse....i simply spray my mf mitt off with a hose and wring it out......it gets allot more or the grit and dirt out of the mf mitt.....i can wash cars until the wash water is completely gone....the water is clean even after 3 or so cars if you are careful...i don't know if this is quite possible with a lambs wool mitt....but that's why i switched to the blue mf mitt that patrick has anyways...
