wash after compounding?

Do any of you wash your vehicles after compounding or polishing before applying your wax or sealant?

depends on your defenition of washing?.......any sort of washing with water should be done before hand to eliminate contaminents in the paint....washing after polishing is kinda pointless because you may introduce new wash scratches IMO

If I am doing a total paint recondition then I always wash after compounding to make sure there is nothing on the paint and in the cracks. I will do door jambs and everything. After the wash I then will procede with my final polish. My final polish stage does not make a mess at all.

Only if using farecla g3 with a wool pad on a 70's or 80's paint job.

That stuff is messy. All other products don't make any mess at all

Usually I use a final product like KAIO, PwC, VM, etc. after polishing and before LSP. I find the cleaners in those products removes any polish or compound residue and lays a good base for the LSP. So .... no washing after compounding/polishing for me.

I don't mean to thread jack, but when I used ZPC it made a huge mess. I had polish dust everywhere. No one else experiences this?

most polishes dust at least a little bit...if there is a lot of dust i just rinse the car off and dry with qd and my drying towel...otherwise i just qd wipedown the entire car and go onto final polishing or lsp...

That's wierd Dan. I have never had a problem with it yet. I have used it on many cars with ease, but I mainly use it as a finish polish only after compounding. I also use it on pc with a lc white pad.

I'll QD the car with Adams or S&W and MAYBE use ONR if I am dealing with a TON of polishing dust (which hasnt been an issue lately).
