I'm with you on stamping out extremest - regardless of religion. Extremest want us to hate certain groups because it makes their life easy and "proves" their wicked and hateful causes.

America is beacon of hope the world over. At our core is a commitment to do whats right - not what's easy. Simply banning an entire religion of people go against everything this country is founded on and is unconstitutional.

That line of thinking puts us directly on a path of more harm vs any good that will come out of it.

I agree, I think the religion thing is just dumb. That said we should be a little sneaky with this... let other countries help us do some vetting since the FBI stated they can't. We should have a list of NO FLY countries like what we did with the ebola. Except this will be for countries recognized to harbor extremists, it will immediately stop some of the less funded cells from even reaching us, others will have travel through other countries to then travel to us, thus forcing other governments/border agents to vet them before reach us. It will also allow us to regulate the flow of people since we wouldn't have as many streams...

It's been done in the past (by carter). As well as there IS a religious test for refugees.

Ron, It's unconstitutional because its banning people based on religion versus what Carter did by banning people based on nationality. Or at least that's my read on it.

I half agree, but there is a religious question as far as refugee status, considering that most of our refugees are here for religious reasons.

That being said, please site the article (not just repeating what's been said by so called scholars) that says it's unconstitutional, and not immoral. Since if he does make it, and does try it, it WILL be adjudicated.

Not all laws are "right". Not all laws are moral or ethical.
 
Adding to my post above with the Carter thing, he actually let people in from Iran, if they could prove they were not Shia.

Absolutely not. He is no more out of line for saying it than the president is for letting the refugees into our country without the complete approval of the citizens of this country. What happened to "We the People..."! At least he has the guts to say what some of us are thinking!

Sadly we are afraid to be honest and want to be politically correct. I'm sorry but study the life of Muhammad and read what the Quran teaches it's followers about doing as Muhammad did.

I am all for you to believe what you want and have no problem with it. Unless your religion gives you freedom to do whatever you want to "Infidels" (anyone who does not believe as you do) with no consequence and considers it an honor in doing so.

So I agree with the statements made.
