Was Trump out of Line?

When people who sneak in here want to embrace American values then and only then will we not need a wall.

Though the definition of "American Values" can vary pretty widely... [Accumulator is probably an equal-opportunity offender when it comes to a lot of these topics ;) ]

Personally, it kind of offends me (not kind of, but really offends me) as to what my values are/should be.

What part is not true?

The first part of the debate last night I saw was much better without him. He and Carson add little to the discussion. There was actually some policy discussion but still seems Cruz does not like Fox asking him to compare and contrast against other candidates. He just wants to own the stage for 30 minute

The most principled person to me is Rand Paul. He sticks to the facts and leaves the emotion (he can be emotionless) out of the discussion. Rubio comes across as desperate at times (please let me be president). Bush did try to cram some policy in his statements rather than the soundbites compared to Cruz.

If an expanding middle class is the definition of making America great again, then none had the solution. The jobs are gone and all there is is tech jobs (low wage service jobs are not the solution) and the workforce (those angry aging post 45 aged folks that comprise the GOP) is not likely ever going to get the skills. Did you notice there was little talk on welfare reform?

Trump has run before and never got traction this far into the race? Why because the USA is desperate to get back on track both at home and abroad. I am not saying he is perfect but nobody is.

I read this somewhere recently.

If you came home from a vacation and found you house had been overrun by a pack of raccoons. They were destroying what you spent a lifetime building, and treating your family in a way that you were afraid could harm them you would call for help right? And if the guy who could go in an do the job of getting these things out of your house was a smelly, overweight guy who cursed, had bad manners and any other vile attribute you would hire him and let him do his job because he could get it done.

I think this is why Trump is succeeding. He may not be the most polished politician, and he may make mistakes others would avoid because they are so politically correct, but he will gain the respect (or attention) of the world because he does not care what others think, he care (as it appears) to get the job, that has not been done, done. Its been a long time since any political race has been so charged within parties and I think is because we as a country work up the the fact that we need to get back on tract he and abroad.

I am not for discrimination of any people for race, religion or any other reason. I am for a safer USA and world and I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to go about doing that without stepping on some toes. I don't think it is possible to not upset someone, but I do know that I want to have a safe place to live and not hear about innocent people getting killer or hurt just because they hasppen to be in the wrong place in public at the wrong time.

Unfortunately to get back the to what I consider normal we need to go through a re-birth and that is a painful process.

My Dad never cared if I was his friend, I was his son and raising me was a WIP (and we had a great relationship, but he was focused on raising me properly without a doubt) , he taught me what was right and wrong. It was clear, and I knew the rules as they were black and white. Like any kid, I got into trouble by disobeying rules and getting caught. Nothing too major. No punishment was ever shortened or waived because that would show weakness and perhaps I would not have learned the lesson. The risk to him was, I would do it again if the punishment was not dispensed. If I begged to get out of a punishment, I ran the risk of it getting longer or worse. I had to take it. That taught me to behave and not repeat those things that would get me punished. it worked and I think its what the country needs. A leader that can make tough decisions, admit some may not be 100% fair right now, but they are necessary and the only way and as we get a handle on what's going on. Once that happens we can repeal or re create rules that are more equitable. For now we need to catch and punish those robbing us of our PEACE OF MIND.

Many put a premium on Trump "not being PC" and his speaking with candor, but I wish such attributes weren't so uncommon as to be a big deal (yeah, yeah..."dream on Accumulator, it's politics"), and I think that all the emphasis on that distracts from the question of whether he's right/wrong about various things, or whether his positions on the Big Topics are what people really want, and whether his other attributes (?dis?)qualify him for our consideration.

Specific topic I haven't heard him on and have no clue about- his ideas about whom he would/wouldn't consider appointing to the Supreme Court and why.

Completely agree. I don't want another establishment president as bad as the next person, but #1 Donald Trump is out for Donald Trump, and #2 he's literally said nothing of any substance when it comes to an actual plan about anything.

Just read the other day how Trump boasts about having committed adultery many times, yet members of the Religious Right are supporting him without questioning whether he's sought forgiveness for such behavior. I somehow suspect that seeking forgiveness for anything, let alone this kind of moral transgression, would be a bit out of character for him.

(Leaving his $ out of the discussion...) Would you want Trump for your brother-in-law? Are there lower hurdles for POTUS than for marrying one's sister? Why do people esteem this [individual]?!?

It is amazing how they complain about Obama yet think Rubio (just as inexperienced as Obama), Carson (least experienced ever), Trump (you name it), and Crudz (had dual citizenship until a couple years ago) does not even get along with his own party all attract waves of support.
