When I read the post that JP posted about Simonize waterless wash I went to their web site and saw ad for Instant Shine.

This was to be in a motorized spray bottle for $9.95 and you get a free turbo-vac 3 free wash mitts and free micro fiber towel just pay shipping of $9:95.

When you enter your name and credit card info then it will go to a page that ask if you want the free turbo vac for $14.95 shipping you can check yes or no, The shipping on the bottle of instant shine is $9.95 free towels is $7.95 free mitts $ 9.95 free turbo vac $ 14.95

when I checked NO it automatically billed me for $14.95 shipping plus $ 19.95 for the instant shine.

No way to go back to previous page and change it you will pay large shipping on all the items that they say are free.

I just now called my card company and stopped pay.

Thought I would give DCer's a heads up on this if you go to the Simonize site like I did after reading J P's post.

Yeah - looking at that website.... jeez... You have to put your CC info in up front. I don't like that at all. :(

Hope you don't get the shaft Bart.

You also have to be careful as some sites will enroll you in a month to month program, It happened to me

I never seen a site that you could not use the back button and back out or delete what was ordered but they have this one set up so you must give them your card number first then it will go to a page that has the info for the little vac and you can not back out or delete you are hooked.

I called my card company and they said they would take care of it.

This is a poor business policy I will never buy another Simoniz product ever again.

Anytime I have to enter my payment stuff before I start shopping, I just leave the site.
That is smart.
This is the first site that I have seen like that but the only reason to have it like that is to deceive you.

The first page tells you about the free stuff but they will ship everything in 1 box for about 10 bucks and the 40 bucks in extra charges will pay their cost for the items.

Another thing that I forgot to mention is when I clicked on the NO I did not want the deal it took me to another page where they offered it to me for less. :yikes:

BUT THEIR WAS NO WAY TO DECLINE THE DEAL ONCE YOU CLICK THE ORDER BUTTON. :surrender

I went to the web site. It says there is an additional shipping and handling fee for the "free" turbo vac but the first page does not mention it. It does state there is a $9.95 shipping charge.

The fine print says: "...But now it's available direct to you from Simoniz for only $9.95 plus $9.95 S&H. As a FREE Bonus you'll also receive the Microfiber Polishing Cloth and 3 Water Activated Car Wash Mitts." The "additional S&H is not disclosed.

The $9.95 shipping is for the bottle of Instant Shine.

The turbo vac shipping is $14.95
The MF Towels shipping is $7.95
I don't remember for sure what the 3 mitts were but I think shipping on them was $12.95 about $ 46.00 total shipping charges.

About five minutes of investigation leads me to believe that "Simoniz USA", a cleaning products manufacturing company located in Bolton, CT, may be taking a bad rap on this.

The "confusion" may involve a marketing company known as CM Fulfillment, of New Berlin, WI. There are numerous loose ends, interconnecting partnerships, and "persons of interest" requiring follow-up before drawing any conclusions.

My point is, a cursory look at this tells me that the real culprit (if, in fact, any wrongdoing occurred) may not be Simoniz.

You can find out if you do what I did go to www.simoniz.com and click on the order button and see how much what is offered on the front page changes.

All I'm saying, Bart, is that this deal is like an onion and we are looking at the outer layer. There are many players here... the TV production company, the credit card processing company, the order fulfillment company and the manufacturer.

Should Simoniz jump in and prevent their product from being used in a scam? Absolutely. But, they may not be the actual bad actors.

Well, should someone decide to delve deeper, there are a couple of contact methods available:
Contact Simoniz USA

or calling direct: 1 800 227 5536.

However, to contact the site of questionable (scamming) practices that sells the Liquid Diamond (Complete with Billy Mays shouting in the background) you need to call 1-262-787-2041

I thought I would give you guys a update on this.
I was not successful in getting the order canceled and I went online and saw they had charged $53.45 to my card.

When the package arrived I refused it and sent it back to them.
I called my credit card company and protested the charge.
It took a while but I got the charge of off my card.

Be careful ordering online too many scams going on, From now on I will stick to the places that I know are not going to rip me off.
