Wanted : Polisher in Belgium

I'm looking for a PC here in Belgium, but most people fall down as soon as I speak about polishing cars so no luck here.

Is there any shop/memeber that is able to send me over the right PC with velcro pads and so ?

Thanks in advance...

Ok, thanks, I already send them an e-mail about this...

What about ordering products (except aerosols of course), is it safe to order them or are there problems with leaking and so...

I would order a Cyclo instead, that's what i did. You can get it much cheaper buying it directly from the US than form some distributor(that's the case in Finland and Sweeden at least). And it's 220V with the right plug, model 5CE. About 330US $ and it's CE approved.

And many seem to prefer it over the PC, becouse it's more effective at doing what i want it to do, remove swirlmarks.

Ah, he will sent you a mail with info. PM me if you need help.

Along with the pc, i ordered a bunch of other stuff. Its safe. They now how too pack things.

BTW, dont under estimate shipping costs.

Thanks for the answer via mail David !

I found a polisher here in Belgium, a FLEX (look's like a by product of Porter Cable), but I don't know if it's the same type of machine (rotating and osciliating like the 7424), it costs about 350 $ and is complete with different pads and so...

They appear to be rotary polishers and not random orbitals, which is what the PC is. I am sure Flex do a similar version so it might be worth doing a search.

I still prefer the "random orbital" PC instead of a rotary polisher, first of all to prevent myself from destroying the paint and second because the orbital movement is the same as "hand-work" wich gives the best and safest result IMHO...

A few years ago I spent a lot of time searching for an equivalent to a PC in the UK. In the end I order a PC from America and bought a 110v transformer. Have I any regrets, yes, I wish I had not delayed in buying one. Aside from being a great tool there is a wealth of information on using it and what products work best with it.

Same here, i searched more then a yea for equilivant. Ended up order the pc. Let me tell you, for $350 dollar, you have the pc+sonus package shipped to the netherlands. I paid another $100 for some other stuff at the same time.

One note: There was no tax-added.

There is also a difference in Hz, we have 50 Hz power (230 volts), and the US guys have 60 Hz and 110 volts.

If somebody can say that the PC will defo work on our power net (with the use of a small converter) then it's ok...

Oh, and does somebody know what kind of wattage the PC has ?

The Flex unit you need is the X1107VE. Random orbit sander with a 8,8 mm pad throw!

Or alternatively, a DeWalt 443 (5 mm throw) is available throughout Europe!

Expect around 300 € for the Flex and 220 € for the DeWalt.

Believe me, it wasn't that hard...

I already called Present Handel, but the two polishers you mention are way too much in rpm !

I tought you had to polish on a low rpm like 1000-1500 or so, the ones you mention are 5500+ ! on the lowest setting ...

Hey my PC works with a convertor over here. At this page you can see which convertor i have. Its the one with 800Watt. You need little less then 500 but they adviced me to get more.

It is not a factor, the 50Hz is an average as is the voltage. 230v will vary quite a lot depending on the total demand from the sub station.

Hey Wally!

These polishers ARE the equivalent of the PC. Technically, they have OPM, not RPM!!! Oscillations per minute, dude! Get it?

Not the same as RPM! My Bosch orbital goes to 24 000... These are no rotaries, so you don't have to count those RPMs!

Just order any of them. BTW Flex and Porter Cable is the same company.

OK Bence, thanks for the info...

Will the DAS or SFX pad-set fit one one of those machines ?

If they are the equivalent of a PC it's better to order the polisher here then...
