I don`t know...it looks like it might pass the finger nail test and buff right out! All kidding aside though, I`d be devastated if that was my car. Notice how the Vette is parked away from other cars and somehow it still managed to get messed up.
 
At the risk of sounding insensitive (I do feel for the `vette`s owner), depending on how "restored" it was, IMO that`s just a check away from being back to "before" condition. Had it been an unrestored original I`d feel differently.

EDIT: upon brief reflection the above strikes me as utterly, uhm...deplorable and I wish I hadn`t posted it. The only reason I`m not just deleting it is that it`s an object lesson in "just step away from the keyboard" :o

I`m a bit, uhm... surprised that anybody`s suprised that it happened, the idea that it`s OK to not pay attention to one`s driving 100% of the time and/or otherwise make mistakes behind the wheel has become so accepted that they`re equipping vehicles with systems to compensate for such [stuff]. I mean, gee...[individuals] lose control of their vehicles pretty often, happens literally every day.

In FL, minimum property damage limits are $10K. If there the "offender" has basic limits, that all the insurance carrier will pay.

Normally if you own a car like that Vette you have a stated value policy which covers damages to your vehicle regardless of fault up to the agreed value of the vehicle - versus a standard policy which only pays actual cash value (book value).

OOOH, so he was cheating on a spouse who cared, huh? Totally changes things IMO, though it`s too bad she took it out on the car instead of the, uhm...obvious alternative.. but with any luck that decision will keep her out of serious trouble when it`s all said and done.
