Walmart Closing Out Surf City Line

I have been in two different Walmarts. One still had Surf City on their shevles at full price. At another Surf City was no where to be found. Go Figure !!!

A lotta years ago, the individual managers had a lot of leeway as to what products they carried in their stores, as it was their job to know what their local customers wanted, I don't know if that's still the case, but it would seem so based on your observation. I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and I saw Surf City on the regular detail shelf, although some of it seemed to be on sale (not clearance price though).

Same here. It must be a regional thing because 3x Wally Worlds here they're all full price.

Pep Boys is running a sale where it's $ off if you buy two SC products but that's all that's going on in these parts.

I am willing to bet if AG still carried the line, the tune around here would be as different as Bluegrass and Gangsta Rap.

AG did carry the line for a short period. It was supposedly drop due to lack of demand. I liked the Surf City Glass Cleaner. After checking the MSDS, it has the same key ingredient used in Meg's Glass Cleaner so that may explain why I liked it since I like Meg's.

Since I am the original poster (OP), I have to rescind this information about Surf City Garage (SCG) product line at my local Wal-Mart. As some of you have posted, this is a store-by-store decision by the store management as to what items go on the Clearance shelves, and apparently some of the old stock of SCG products ended up there at my local Wal-Mart in Green Bay, WI.
I recently noticed that it is back on the shelves in the Automotive Department at "regular" prices. My apology to Surf City Garage company, despite some of the "negative" comments posted within this forum. It's unfortunate that my local Wal-mart does not carry or stock Road Trip Grime Destroyer degreaser, Barrier Reef liquid carnauba car wax, or the Barrier Reef car wash.
Wal-mart must be selling some of the SCG line or they wouldn't stock it and have it on the shelves. SOOO, if there are any of you fellow Autopians who do currently or have in the past used SCG products, please let us know how they perform(ed) for you.

I guess it's just me but this reads like a lawyer induced Cease and Desist retraction.

No, I am NOT a lawyer, nor have I been asked by either Wal-Mart's or Surf City Garage's "legal department" to retract what I originally posted.
It is just a wrong "observation and misinterpretation" of what was happening with SCG products at a local Wal-Mart on my part and I needed to formally admit and clarify that position. In the interest of ethical business practices, I make this apology to both businesses and to my fellow Autopians who may have been "misinformed" due to my incorrect observation and judgment.

No, I am NOT a politician either, trying to do damage control of my own reputation and save face, although it sounds that way.

Well kudos for standing up. Not a lot of people would in this day and age, which is maybe why it came across a bit forced. Have a great day!
