Waffle weave towels - green vs blue

I guess no one wants to plunge into the marketing vagaries of PBMA. I've always found Cobra MF's to be overpriced, so the 3 pack of blue seems like a deal. Oh thatt's not Cobra brand. If you have both, and find them both to "work well", then the cheaper ones would be the obvious choice.

i think the green/guzzler waffle weaves are probably going to be a little softer than the blue ones. i always preferred the ultra-soft waffle weaves over the regular ones. i'm sure you'll be fine with either... :2thumbs:

I haven't tried the green towels, but did get the 3 pack of the blue. They have been washed twice in MF cleaner, but do not absorb as well as my Adam's WW towels. Maybe a few more washings will help, but they still seem to have a 'film' on them.

Oddly enough I find the blue is softer than the green - the green seems to drag along more, the blue just swipes across.

i only use the ultra-soft waffle weaves and if the blue ones are that (like the one below), then you got a winner. i've never had a problem with waffle weaves dragging when i've used them... :nixweiss

That's what my blue ones look like.

Perhaps dragging is the wrong term to use, but the blue ones seem to swipe across the paint smoother than the green.

I just got a 3 pack of the blue ones you are talking about. I also have the green guzzler to compare to. the guzzler is a little softer but the blue ones are a little thicker . for the price of 3 blue waffle weaves I would buy them again without any worries. they are very similar to ones I had bought from another vendor and I have been using them with no issues for the last couple of years. the only thing I did was remove the tag that was sewn in.

that's what i was thinking, the ultra-soft WW's will be thinner (still no problem for me), but softer. i have no problem using just one, after using the flooding method and/in combination with the leaf blower...

Do you really think their is huge difference between the various vendors? I haven't had a bad MF from any of the vendors I ordered from. There is very little difference between them other than color and size. The towels either absorb well or they don't. They either scratch or they don't. The rest is all marketing BS. To be honest the two best towels I have ever used for drying aren't even waffle weaves and they are available locally. They are the Viking gold drying towel and the big blue drying towel from Walmart. They beat all the waffle weaves I own (over 20 of them) and cost less and are easily picked up local.

all that matters is that it works with no problems (whatever you use), and yes the viking x-large microfiber drying towel works great (if i'm not using waffle weaves i'll use one of these as well)...
