Waffle Weave Microfiber Towels

I have been using Poorboy's Waffle Weave and Pakshak Ultra-Soft waffle weave to dry my cars for over a year now. I am very pleased with the Pakshak, but the Poorboy's aren't really absorbing much water any longer. This time of year I'll be doing a lot of ONR washes in the garage and need a thirsty microfiber.

Any recommendations for replacements or a fix?

I havent had alot of experience with different brands of microfiber towels but I have had good luck with the Sonus towels. When I do an ONR wash I use a Der Wunder drying towel to get the bulk of the water, then I buff of the rest with the Ultimate Detailing towel. It has worked very well for me so far.

Your request is similar to a situation that some one else brought up recently. Pakshack responded by saying rinsing wiht vinagar over time will actually affect to absorbancy of MF towels , because it will act as a water repellent (similar to fabric softners) Sounds weird... I know.

Do a search and you should find the thread.

The Big Blue towels look just like the Pakshak Ultra-Soft. I wonder if they are thicker?

Haven't had any PakShaks. I'm pretty new to this. Picked up the Big Blues following a recommendation from OCDetails.com. I can tell you they're noticeably softer and thicker than any of the OTC waffle weaves I found locally at Wal Mart, Auto Zone, etc. They had free shipping when I got mine, but $5.95 isn't bad, especially if you pick up anything else while you're there.

I agree, those Sonus drying towels are great. I strongly recommend them.

i use the ultra-soft waffle weave's (the regular one's are a tad too hard for my liking) from another well known company, and the same exact one's can be found at exceldetail for $3-$4 cheaper. i love these things, and know where i'll be buying them from now on....

I think there is a thread somewhere describing the boiling technique for a towel rejuvenation. It also describes the need for a kitchen remodel if done incorrectly.
