A couple more of the '01 Audi S4 in the last thread...



To refresh: Optimum Hyper Compound with yellow Cyclo cutting pads on hood and trunk lid, then the whole car using orange Cyclo cutting pads, Meguiars #83 DACP using orange Cyclo cutting pads, Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads, Optimum Poli-Seal using a blue Propel finishing pad and PC.

2007 Chevy Suburban. Normally I just wash this one at his house (along with his wife's DTS) but since he added in a nice tip for coming out to his office on short notice to wash it this time, I figured as I dried each panel during an ONR wash, I'd also spritz it with Optimum Car Wax. Maybe added 5-10 minutes to the process.

2002 Volkswagen 337 GTI. Initially, he called about an interior detail because he was taking the car to a car show since the paint was in decent condition but then decided to have me clean the engine and one step the paint in addition to the interior cleaning.



Since the swirls were minor and I was just asked to one step the paint, I use Optimum Poli-Seal and a blue Propel finishing pad via PC. It didn't remove the light swirls 100% (maybe it would have with a polishing pad?) but it greatly reduced/removed them. The grill is missing in the pics because it was removed for painting.

I cleaned the engine using ONR and a couple of brushes then dressed with Armor All.

The carpets and seats cleaned with BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner, vinyl cleaned with Woolite/water and dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus. After cleaning and revacuuming, we went over the interior with a lint brush since the interior seems to attract every piece of gunk floating around in the air, plus it was parked under a tree on a somewhat windy day.

I did a couple 'get ready for the rough Texas winter' exterior details today. The '06 Mercedes ML350 was waxed with an 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax. The '02 Audi A6 (this was the one I did late spring with the horrible swirls and marring from the dealer's body shop) got Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads and waxed with Optimum Poli-Seal (OPS perhaps?) using a blue Propel finishing pad and my PC.

Beautiful as Always! The Black Audi has extreme gloss and the S4 looks very very wet! Not a fan of the VW but you did a great job giving the paint some depth and shine.



Question though...Does EVERYONE in Texas have RIMS on their trucks/SUV's!?!? LOL

All of them look great as usual. The Audi A6 has a ton of depth and wetness. That VW though, ugh, that paint is hideous.

Aaron-thanks for the links! My son normally does interiors now when we do details and at first didn't like having two bottles of cleaners to use but once he used TLC a few times, he really liked it.

Normaly just a trafic lane cleaner will suffice. But you will allways have that heavily soiled, majorly spotted job. In that instance break out the multi step cleaning process. By doing so you will set ensure you have done everything you can. It takes only seconds to a few min longer to do. In a situation of a soiled car from hell it will reward you with results your customers could only hope for.





I tend to do the multi step simply because i do not like having to go back. I hate having to revisit an area. It wastes my time and sets me out of my grove. I don't mind addressing an area to what ever extent it needs when i am working on that. However when i see a spot wick up an hour later, i simply get torqued. So, i do the multi step from the get go.
