Voltage converter

gentletouch,

Thanks for bringing up this question! I was going to ask, so I will wait with you for some answers on this!

:cool

Wondering the same thing - they won't allow me to clean my car in the apt garage, and I was thinking of using my PC (which is collecting dust currently, how sad) using a voltage converter. I wonder how fast that would drain my batteries... haha

Remember to use a power inverter with enough power.

To calculate the power, you need to take the Amps x Volts = Watts.

So if you were to use a Vac which is 12 Amps, 12*110 = 1320
You would need a power inverter with a rating of 1320 watts.

A Porter Cable is 3.7 Amps, 3.7*110 = 407
= 407 watt inverter.

Always try to have a little 'spare' power in the inverter, get one with more than necessary power, in case there is a spike (usually occurs during starting)

I just brought a 400 watt power inverter from pep boys for $24.98. (powermaster) I just got finish testing it out and it works fine.
