My friend has a yellow challenger with a matte black vinyl wrap on his roof and hood.

only pic i could find

All I know about caring for it would be to avoid any wax/silicone products.
My SRT has a cheap carbon fiber vinyl sticker on the hood but I've done everything to that the same as my paint with zero issues.

He said he cleans it with alcohol wipes.

I saw chemic guys makes a matte detailer/sealant spray and wash too.

He asked me for some suggestions but I told him I'd have to ask.

1. Should he be using a specific type of cloth/towel ?

2. What kind of qd is acceptable?
(Poorboys Spray and wipe?) This car is a garage queen it never would be very dirty up top.

3. Any lsp acceptable?
I do have this whole jar of

I'm guessing that would work.

But what could he buy and use? (would have to be a spray)
optiseal?

Thanks. This is an area I do not know much about.

I have used CG maticulous matte it's ok works well at protecting and leaving very matte finish but it hides nothing. Also tried Flitz matte stuff same works fine. But I now prefer to loose same of the matte ness and put a spray sealant on adds a little shine makes it more satin finish looking but hides any uneven ness in the finish.

edit , I have matte wrapped chevy Camaro hood. Factory wrap so not sure what make wrap

anyone else care to chime in?
I'm thinking Poorboys Spray and Wipe (has no wax/silicone) and possibly Optiseal
I have both of those on hand I could give him some of that

I want to try the celeste as well but he will need something in a spray to use

I haven't seen anyone using any special towel online anywhere so im guessing a good mf would suffice.
I have several I can try different gsm's - im thinking a thinner, less dense one would be best

I run into this from time to time. Just ran into this on a Camaro I detailed. Not sure if this violated the rules, but I use Adams Revive hand polish on a no cut pad set to speed 1-2 on my flex and zero pressure to "clean" up the vinyl. Then to coat it I use their quick sealant.....quite liberally.

Before

Cleaned and treated. Came out flawless.

No more water spots. Perfectly smooth.

No more weird marks on the back

Client was really happy and I was pleased with how it turned out. It was pretty hammered on to start.

303 is a great product, but just doesn't hold up on exterior applications. Since it's vinyl, I'd suggest Duragloss 301 Tonnaeu Cover and Vinyl Convertible Dressing. I use it on my tonnaeu cover on the truck and quite like it. Test on a small area first, but I think it should work well.
