Vinyl repair projects - cracked dash and door panels

I want to repair a cracked vinyl covered dashboard (mid 1980's Mercedes and a door panel (1998 Oldsmobile ) . I might try the Permatex vinyl repair kit kit but wondered about any other options . - Thanks

Having been around used cars and seeing repairs like these done for 20 years now I can say that they tend to be more temporary fixes and panel replacement is best if you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time.



I still know a few people who do this kind of repair for a living though and can ask them what they recommend if you like.
