Vintage Side By Side?

RDAutosport- Heh heh, nah.. it sure wasn't a personal dig at you and, well, I honestly didn't mean it to be *personal* towards anybody.

I just kinda hit the end of my tether...seems like *every* Zymol-related thread eventually turns into the same old thing, hence my little quip. Glad you found it amusing; I had hoped it would convey my feelings about this little :argue without being offensive.

Heh heh...people area always casting stones at Zymol. I don't even use the stuff (other than that tiny cira-1985 jar of Detail) and I sometimes feel compelled to come to its defense :chuckle: Or at least take up some of the slack for people who use and like it.

"Mom, I think somebody on the internet is wrong about something!"

[remainder of ranty post deleted...]

Sticks and stones...hah!

*Heh heh*...Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me; So as the title says, its the side by side results that should tell if the EGVintage is worth it or not.

Right Accumulator?? Lol!

lbls1- Heh heh, don't ask me...I'm not doing any side-by-side [crap] on my cars :D For that matter, I'm not doing any of those innumerable wipe-downs either :grinno:

Easy for me say with that car still mothballed at my mechanic's shop...we'll see what I do/don't do when I finally start driving it again!

Heh heh#2...my quip about arguing on the internet could be applied to the folks on *your* side of this argument too :chuckle: :nana:

But seriously, that's a good point you brought up about paint quality, and it's something that doesn't get much mention here. When I get the S8 polished up just right what *really* jumps out at ya is the orange peel...fancy computer-controlled robot painting indeed  For what that thing cost me....But my old ss-metallic cars OTOH, now *there* are some paints that might do the Zymol-magic-hoo-ha thing you're always talking about.

And you guys *do* have my attention with this talk about how easily it cleans up.

Come on guys, you're only comparing the cheap 'Vintage' stuff. ;)

Try *this* stuff:

ZYMOL SOLARIS

just as with anything that's very expensive, zymol's top products isolate the crowd. I side with those that want to feel like they're giving the best to their vehicles.

remember that something's worth is only what someone is willing to pay for it. if the owners feel $2k wax is worth it - then it is worth it. as with all these crazy wax threads, everyone agrees there is very little difference in look. I'm still waiting for some of these big time pro's to finish a car with Nu Finish, Turtle Wax, or something along those lines just to prove that point.

i also agree u won't be able to capture the different in a photo. see the vehicle in person, and i have no doubt it'll do do more for you than any pic could.

i'm tired of all arguments (not just about vintage) that revolve around the school of though of "If i put 50k into a mustang, it'll run faster 1/4 times than a ferrari. A ferrari is therefor overpriced and not worth what they're asking for." It's getting old...

oh and i almost forgot - stop trying to compare a 'nuba to a sealant. i usually don't flame ANYONE, but that's plain retarded. I won't strip of my layers of Supernatural for some lame test u won't be able to evalute in pics on the 'net, let alone would i expect anyone to go so with vintage

^ Ya well. Yes the paint quality thing gets missed a lot in the for and against arguments. Nothing you can do on top of a paint surface will matter if the paint is poor.

But.....you'll have new paint when (you get tired of dodging me with your excuses heh heh!) your jag gets out. Poor Jag.....it'll have to suffer with souveran.....:bolt ok not nice j/k.

A good perk is that Vintage does clean up well; By far its not its overwhelming quality, however.

I did... it didn't.

If you are referring to me, and I don't know if you are, I don't need you to strip anything off of your car... perhaps you need to read the entire thread before posting?

It's funny it seems like the people that keep threads like this alive are the people who either have nothing better to do or are so desperate to prove their point that they simply can't let things go.

I used Vintage... nice wax. I sold the sampler I bought for $80 after two uses (I bought it for $85).

My favorite wax continues to be Clearkote's Carnuba Moose.

lbls1- Heh heh, you think *I'm* making endless excuses about the Jag, you oughta hear my mechanic! I haven't even *seen* the car for ages  We're the people who show up for Jag Club events in an Audi every time...

Oh, and I only had a few areas reshot on it, it's still at least 80-85% oe paint (in pretty terrible conditions, even cracking in places). Being serious for a second, I really dunno if it's something to use Vintage on, and just because something is "better" than Souveran (and I do believe Vintage is) that doesn't mean I'll like how it looks on that particular car anyhow.

Welp, we won't know by making excuses, now will we.............? *Heh heh*!

Dont' mind me, I get a real kick out of bumping into you lol!!!!

Just wondering do you have to buy directly from Zymol, in order to get the free refills for life? Thanks.

No you do not..... But buy it from a dealer who carries Zymol.
