Vick Haters

Someone sent this to me and I got a kick out of it.

Anyone think Vick will play pro football again?

I'm no fan of cruelty to animals but there are plenty of athletes that have been convicted of some other serious crimes like abusing their spouse or kids and after a short suspension get to go right back to playing again.

I'm not sure his punishment fit the crime. IMO

I am sure that his punishment does not fit the crime. I definitely am not one of those types that think that dogs are people too.

He did do something wrong. He will do his time and he will be back in the arena to play football again. I just hope that he keeps his nose clean this time.

I don't feel very much pity for people who have great opportunities in life and throw it away - either like this or like folks who OD/suicide. Too many other people really do have to scrape by on the rock bottom for me to feel sorry for people like that (Vick, Ledger, etc). Guess that makes me cruel.....

I don't feel a bit sorry for the the guy. He knew what he was doing was wrong but he did it anyway. I think these pro athletes need to be brought down a notch. You can get away with anything if your famous.

I do find it odd though they are making such a big deal out of him, but if he beat his wife he probably wouldn't get this much attention.

As a dog lover, I definitely think he got what he deserved. As an impartial person, I think it may be a tiny bit much, but his name and career didn't help much. I also think it's a bit naive to compare it to spousal or child abuse. I'm not saying that a dog is an equal to any child or wife, but killing an animal is a far worse offense than hitting a person. His funding led to a lot of unnecessary and very cruel animal deaths. Deaths that were not only caused by other animals, but also by the owners/spectators as well.

Here is the official dog toy:

I don't feel sorry for the guy either, he had the world, played quater back, had a great slarary and was loved by a whole city. At some point in life you need to grow up and distance yourself from people who have a chance to put you into harm or trouble. Both of those things he couldn't stay away from by still associating with buddies from his past that had not changed, had not grown up.

Now the problem with him playing again is I believe his suspenion from football doesn't start until he is released from prison, so after all that time and from not being in game shape, even if he could come back would someone take him.

Doesnt make it right. I hope he never gets back on the field. I'm not off the deep end but I am an animal love for sure....Getting home to my two dogs is the best part of my day. When I am walking up to the door, I know they're just waiting for me on the other side and then they go nuts when I walk in. Just thinking about what he did (without even seeing pictures) makes me sick.

I'm glad that the Falcons have freed up that payroll. Maybe they can use it to get some quality players that can help them win.

Ditto!:bigups

He got what he deserved! If he comes back he will make a great punt returner for somebody. QB? never again. He was never an outstanding QB in the first place, he was a running back with some throwing abilities. Sure he was big stuff the first few years, but after coaches developed a plan to shut him down, and drafted D linemen that could out run him, he hasn't done much. They made a hugh mistake letting Bret Farve leave Atlanta to become the QB with the Packers( we all know how well he turned out), and then to let Matt Scaub go to the Texans( he may not turn out to be a Bret, but he will be good) that was a mistake, but I know VIck made them big money. I'm not an Atlanta Fan, but I hope they get their stuff straight because Blank seems like a good man that is trying to turn things around.

Thankfully, for every "thug" like Michael Vick, there are good guys like Warrick Dunn that do great things with the money they make in sports.

Speaking of money in sports, does anyone else think baseball players are waaaay over paid? :passout:

I think football players should get paid well for what they do. Their careers are usually fairly short and the risk of serious injury is pretty high. Baseball players on the other hand get paid an awful lot to play a slow game with a very low risk of serious injury.

(This ought to rile up all you baseball fans but it's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.....)

Plus football I believe is the only sport that does not have garunteed contracts.

I am a big baseball fan and a big Yankess fan, but I do believe baseball players are way over paid, I think Alex Rodrieguez contract is larger then some third world nations wealth

Baseball players aren't over paid.
The women in the WNBA are over paid.
Golfers are over paid.:passout:

Personally, I think all athletes are over paid. They are playing games for a living. Yes, they are extremely good at what they do, but that doesn't mean they should get the kind of money they make. They aren't saving lives. Paying them that much is a joke. IMO, teachers and the men and women of our military should be the highest paid people in this country. Afterall, what would you do without an education or freedom?
