Very Dirty Import - Have I used too much product?

First post! :)

I recently shipped over a car from Japan (93 Toyota Aristo). After it got here, it was filthy from the transport and parked outside for a good week before I could get too it.

I have some Autoglym products at home so first I washed it with their bodywork shampoo and hit it by hand with the Super Resin Polish.

Doing the whole car by hand I used about half the bottle. Is this too much product?

I didnt seem to have much trouble buffing it out? I couldn't let it haze/dry too long though as the area I was washing in had surrounding tree's that have a tendency to drop things onto the car if you're not quick.

and finally, should this stuff get out watermarks when used by hand?

I've been lurking for about a week and this a great forum! Lots of information available, and people who know what they are talking about.

Yes, that is way too much product. As far as the water spots??? It depends on how bad they are...you can pick up some Duragloss water spot remover, or try an AIO. If that does not work, it is time to break out the polish.

I feared as much. The SRP abrasives seem to be very mild, so I don't think it would harm anything, except my back pocket from the waste of polish?

For next time...

Would an applicator pad help me to control how much I'm putting on? The MF I used the first time seemed to eat it up.

I'm guessing you would need several pads to do do the whole car.
