Alright, so I'm extremely frustrated at this point. And this is going to be a long rant so I apologize.
March 2011 I purchased the Gaia (steamer/extractor) from vapor clean, which is owned by Puregreen International, LLC.
The machine cost me $769 and at first I was pretty impressed with the machine.
I used the extractor maybe 5 or 6 times and the pump died. So, I only had the steamer portion working. I contacted the company to see if maybe there was a repair shop in my area that I could bring it to. Being in the middle of summer and being busy I didn't want to be without the steamer for a long period of time. Turns out you have to ship the unit back.
I talked to another detailer who also owns this machine and had recommended it to me. He suggested maybe a local vacuum repair shop. So, I thought that's a great idea. Took it around to a few local shops and none of them could do anything with it nor did they have the proper tools to even open the machine up.
Anyway, I waited a few months until business slowed down and contacted the company. They required that I pay a $175 deposit on the machine and pay to ship it back. Even though it clearly states on their website the machine has a 1 year warranty and shipping is included. So, after talking to the service dept I said OK since I had no other choice.
Shipped it back and I got it back within a week. Great turn around time! Problem being they shipped it to my old address. Even though I had followed all their instructions and had a slip of paper inside the box that stated my name, address, phone number, etc to be shipped back to (per their instructions) and they still shipped it to the wrong address.
After contacting them again they re-routed it to my correct address. I get the machine back and it works. But there is no explanation of what they did or if I was going to be charged.
I check my bank account and sure enough I was charged the $175. So, I emailed the service dept asking for an explanation. I waited a couple days and nothing. So I sent another email. Nothing. Today I called and was told "Sorry sir but I'm not the one who deals with this. I'll pass your message along to the service dept and try to get someone to get back to you today. It looks like you shouldn't have been charged".
So, now I am going to have to wait for the explanation and if I'll get my money back for the deposit and shipping costs.
Overall I'm BS with the company and will never do business with them again. I paid good money for this machine and I would expect that their customer service would be better. Just goes to show that good service is hard to find these days.
Only thing they have going for them is the quick turn around time. But at the cost of $175 I'm not too happy. For all I know they could have unplugged a tube and charged me for 10 minutes of work.
I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning that this company is not one to do business with. If your looking for a steamer or extractor go with another company.
