Vanilla Moose

Cool cheers nice one. I have swirl free and hand polish and i am going to get either or both the other to exported to me if i can!

Ok, here is my plan for my new 2004 Accord:

Wash

Clay

3M SMR(for very light swirl from the damn dealer)

VM

MW

S100(for protection)

Am I missing something? And I am doing it by hand too. Does 3M SMR give good result by hand?
 
luvthong-I'd skip the regular version of Moose Wax. It is a decent one step product, but it looks best by itself, although I've topped it with Vanilla Moose and Carnuba Moose with good results.



Contrary to my initial understanding, Vanilla Moose does contain wax and it beaded for two months on a black Ford Expidition I wash weekly and I've been using straight Vanilla Moose on a black Ford F-150 that I wash every two weeks and wax every 4th time I wash it. He takes it to his deer lease and scratches the you-know-what out of it, so between late summer and late winter, there is no sense doing more than a 1 step on his paint. I get it real good once hunting season is over, then maintain it for the rest of the year.



I would top Vanilla Moose with either S100 or Carnuba Moose. S100 will have a slightly more reflective and bright look and Carnuba Moose has a slightly warmer/deeper and wetter look.



Either combination should offer about 6-12 weeks of protection, depending on enviromental conditions and the color of your car (carnuba based waxes seem to last a bit longer on lighter colored cars).

So the VM is more like a glaze than a wax? Also... where can this be bought cause I dont see it on the clearkote site

Thank you very much for your idea. I really appreciate it. My car is a silver color so I want a warmer & depper look on it, I think I will order the Carnuda Wax instead of S100 sicne I am using Clearkote products anyway and I wish using the products fro mthe same company can give me better result.

Regarding Moose Wax, so you are saying that it's good one step product. Do you mean just wash and wax? I have a 86 beater than might be a good use for it.

By hand, is SMR going to give me good result? I already machinse wash my MF and going to use the 2 buckets systems to wash it and hoepfully, I will not get any mirco marring from it. I want a mirco marring and swirl marks free car :)
 
Luthong-regular Moose Wax would be a decent (but pricey if you just order one product from Clearkote since shipping is $8) one step wax for a beater. By one step, I mean you use just one product for paint cleaning and protection, sort of like Pert, which is a shampoo and conditioner in one product. One steps are fine for a quickie wax job or for a company car for example, but if you want the best look, a two step process will look better.



If you are going to use a swirl remover by hand, then I'd recommend using Meguiars #9 or Swirl Free Polish since I've had real good results using them by hand.

Thanks Scottwax!! So is it better to use Meguiars #9 or SFP than 3M SMR if I am going to us them by hand? Should I get both #9 and SFP or jsut either one is fine?

I haven't used 3M's SMR, but others have said they have had better luck using Meguiars swirl removers by hand than 3M's. Your results may vary....;)

One final question, should I use VM first, then the Swirl Free Polish? I think VM has cleaner in it and I think it may remove the Swril Free Polish..

Swirl Free first since it is more abrasive. SFP will remove swirls and scratches if you work it right, so no need to worry that VM will remove any filling properties SFP has. SFP is a true swirl remover.
 
I can only find Swirl Mark Remover 2.0 from my local Pep Boys, so I am goign to use it instead of Swril Free Polish, is it okay? So, here is my steps:

Wash

Clay

Swirl Mark Remover

VM

Carnuda Moose



sounds good?
 
Swirl Remover #9 2.0 is pretty much the same product as Swirl Free as near as I can tell.



Your steps are in the correct order, as long as you use the products as the directions say, you should get excellent results.

What do you mean my work it right, do you have any tips, I have try DACP and then SFP on a couple of cars, but I still see some swirls. I work them with the Dual Action, any improvements or tips to work them right (Time, pressure )
 
Alexaris-just like the directions say on the bottles, you have to work them into the paint until nearly clear and dry. Just use firm, even pressure.
 
Well, being a new guy here and a product junkie I went ahead and ordered some Vanilla Moose to give it a shot. My girlfriends car (99 Toyota Solara) is a perfect test car for me to work on. I've used AIO with a PC on it so far and it came out awesome so I think I'll try this to see how it stacks up against it. I'll post back once I test it out.

so after reading all this I take it that if Moose Wax is applied then there is no need for a wax like s100 to be put on top of it? Does the Moose Wax have as good as protection as s100?
 
PanaPower-do you mean the regular one step Moose Wax or the Carnauba Moose Wax? If you mean Carnauba Moose, then you can use it as your final wax with excellent results. In my experience, it is pretty durable for a carnauba wax and so is S100...at least in areas where you do not have much industrial fallout or acid rain.
