Vanilla Moose doesn't seem to have a lot of oils in it, at least not like IHG or #7. From what I understand and have observed, the gloss enhancement of Vanilla Moose is further enhanced by Moose Wax.
The Porsche in this thread is a Vanilla Moose/S100 combo and it also turned out great!
I think either option will give you excellent results.
As I mentioned I was going to try an experiment with Vanilla Moose and GEPC. Last night I used the Vanilla Moose on the rear spoiler and trunklid and topped with Moose Wax. I then prep the front fender with Vanilla Moose, GEPC and topped with one layer of EX sealant ( test product).
Both cleansing procedures worked well. As Scott mentioned the Vanilla Moose is a slightly stronger cleaner than GEPC and it did a fantastic job. Nevertheless, when I followed the Vanilla with GEPC there was a noticeable increace in gloss because of the added oils in GEPC. Both results procedures gave good results but I prefer the added step of GEPC when topping with a sealant. The trunk / spoiler was topped with Moose Wax which seems to add back some of the oil that was lacking in Vanilla Moose and produced a very good gloss, clarity ( outstanding ), slick and wet appearing finish.
My ever changing protocol will now include Vanilla Moose as a pre-cleanser to GEPC. Working the Vanilla Moose into the paint by hand really releases the gloss of the clearcoat with some very good filling and removal of very minor marring. VM is very easy to work with. Wipes on easy but like all cleansers/polishes must be worked into paint for results. Buffing of any residual is effortless. No staining or dust noted.
It is going to rain/sleet/snow all weekend. My project will be to Vanilla Moose/ GECP/ EX ( sealant) 1 coat / 24hrs x 3 and top with Pinnacle Souveran and P21S. Between each layer of sealant and wax will be a QD'ing with Quik Shine. I am also contemplating adding a Moose Wax layer after the GEPC and prior to EX. This will be done by hand. PI-II was done last month so no major marring needs repair by PC.
It going to be a fun interesting weekend working with these fine products. Clearkote (Moose and Quik Shine), P21S, Poorboy's and Pinnacle.:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
I plan to take SLR pixs after each step but I doubt the subtle differences can be detected by photography.:nixweiss
