Vanilla Moose/Moose Wax together

I finally got to try Vanilla Moose with Moose Wax, since the store by me finally reordered (and they give me a professional discount!).

Vanilla Moose goes on and off as easy as S100/P21S GEPC and the effect is similar-super slick and glossy paint. Great vanilla smell, too. Took out pretty much all of the minor scratches and made a couple bad ones hard to notice (the truck has been used for hunting and the owner didn't want me to spend a whole lot of time because it was just going to get scratched up again-but was thrilled by the improvement).

Moose Wax is a reddish brown liquid that seems to be suspended in a clear liquid (like 355 noted). It really doesn't have much of a scent, maybe vaguely chemical. It spreads pretty easily and doesn't dust. And yes, I did apply it in the direct early Febuary sun on black. Paint was pretty warm to the touch (about 70 that day), but not hot. You can apply it a panel at a time and wipe off immediately, or put it on the whole vehicle and then buff off, but it takes slightly more effort to remove the excess if you do.

After waxing, I went over the whole truck with Quikshine, and as you can see, it is very glossy and wet looking. Vanilla Moose and Moose Wax are a great combination. Easy to use and great results!:xyxthumbs

BTW, that isn't a scratch on the front fender, but something that was on the lens of my camera. :(

But you just finished converting us carnauba guys to S100!:D

Great review!

Well, I prefer Vanilla Moose to S100 SEPC (but they are very close), and I'll continue to use S100 when I have shade and Moose Wax in the sun. That way I have a good wax available when there is no shade.

that string on the lens sure does follow the body lines well! it only veers off at the top.

How much does just vanilla moose and moose wax cost?

P.S. Tell the owner f150's handle a lot better off road with 32 inch tires. Tires are just barely small enough to not rub the feners. 33 inchers rub.

Another angle, with the same piece of lint or whatever was on my lens.

samiam513-If I remember right, Vanilla Moose is $12 a pint and Moose Wax is around the same price, maybe a couple bucks more? www.clearkote.net has a price list.

Nice review. I still must do a Vanilla Moose and Wax trial when the weather improves.

Scott, of the 2 products Vanilla Moose and GEPC/SEPC which removes minor blemishes better? From your review it appears they are equal.:xyxthumbs

As usual great pix's:wavey

Also helps to have 4WD.

Great work once again, Scott.

scott,

Have you tried topping vanilla moose with s100?

Yes:

Vanilla Moose/S100 is also a great combo if you prefer a carnuba.

blkZ28Conv-I'd give the nod to Vanilla Moose, it seems slightly more aggressive, but still less than a swirl remover. If the paint is in real good shape, I'd apply it with a foam hand pad, if there is some minor scratching, then I'd apply it with a folded terry cloth towel.

I can not wait to try.:bounce

I may do a Vanilla Moose, followed by GEPC, Moose Wax and top with P21S.:xyxthumbs

Scott stated: "Vanilla Moose/S100 is also a great combo if you prefer a carnuba."

Isn't Moose Wax a carnuaba? Polymer? Combination?

Moose Wax is not a carnuba, but a petroleum based wax. Not sure if that counts as a polymer. Maybe Mr. Glass will see this and elaborate (without giving out proprietary information, of course).

Whatever it's actual content is, it does protect as long as any good carnuba, maybe a little longer and has a similar deep wet shine. I tried it on a Suburban back in March on the hood (it is one I wash every two weeks) because the guy was going to sell it July or August and had already told me his plans and he wasn't going to wax it again. The hood was still beading in early July when he traded it in.

Oh yeah-I'd skip the GEPC after Vanilla Moose-it would be a redundant step. If you want to double polish, just use VM twice. I'm going to try topping Moose Wax with S100 also and see how it looks.

The white mark on the fender is a reflection of a pole in the background. That must be an awesome wax job if you get that much detail from a reflection. Nice work!!!!

Maybe, there are light poles in the parking lot. I didn't think of that. It just looked on the original prints that something was on the lens. :nixweiss

It does look like a pole , pretty darn good if I do say so , Scott is at the top of his game.:xyxthumbs :bow

Just wondering. Per Clearkote page Moose wax is a cleaner wax. As we know P21S GEPC - although has light cleaning agent but is also loaded with oils & fillers which performs like a Glaze, and since vanilla moose supposely performs the same so wouldn't Moose wax remove most of oils from vanilla moose? No doubt that truck Scott posted looks awesome, but wouldn't it be a better idea to top vanilla with pure non-cleaner wax like P21S, Souveran, #26 etc...? Just like most people prefer the #7/#26 combo instead of #7/Gold Class....

I was about to place my order but couldn't help but thinking maybe I should skip moose wax.

Vanilla Moose doesn't seem to have a lot of oils in it, at least not like IHG or #7. From what I understand and have observed, the gloss enhancement of Vanilla Moose is further enhanced by Moose Wax.

The Porsche in this thread is a Vanilla Moose/S100 combo and it also turned out great!

I think either option will give you excellent results.
