Vacuum Preference

I use a handheld vac I bought at Sears that has spinning brushes. This thing is F'ING ESSENTIAL. Spinning brushes are the ONLY way to go. It's small enough to get into most parts of my car. If the car is dirty I usually use a small Craftsman shop vac to get into the crevices and stuff. It's a small one...only like 1.5 HP...but it does the job. It wouldn't be any good for doing all the carpets because it's not powerful enough, but the combo of the little spinning brush vac and it is good.

I just bought a ShopVac Contractor 12gal 5.0hp. It's exactly like LouisanaJeeper's except smaller. It's been working great so far!

I have this Craftsman. Works really well for me. Has really good suction power, is a good size and shape for portability, and it converts to a pretty wicked blower that is good for chasing water out of cracks & crevices. Plus, since its Craftsman, you always know where to take it if you have problems.

I've got the same one. It really sucks...in a good way!

Glad to hear that recommendation Scottwax. I was concerned about the power.

It looks fairly portable and the price is right too!

Might get the Craftsman Car Vac version though.

Is that a regular vac or wet/dry?

Does anyone know how much this one costs? I recently bought a 5Hp craftsman and it does a great job but I bought based on power and not conveinence. It is a pain to store and drag out all the time and I'm looking at something more manageable.

It's wet/dry and cost $69.99 (right now it's on sale minus $5.00) but the website says it's temporarily out of stock.

I'm leaning towards this model, but still undecided. For $99.99 I can buy a Rigid 6.5 hp wet/dry, but of course I lose the portability.
