Vac n' Blo or wet/dry?

i've been pondering this lately. Since i plan on going more professional this summer i figure i should start getting all the stuff needed to do the intererior. From what i've read through old posts here, I have some good ideas on which models to get, but i'm not sure which path i should take. Here's how i see it.

Vac n' Blo

Pros

strong vacuum

lots of attachments good for cars

great for doing what it does

portable

can use the blo part to dry the cars

Cons

expensive (best i've found is on Amazon for $140, but would take 1-2 weeks to ship)

doesn't do wet, ie strong stains and such

just for surface cleaning ie removing dirt and french fries

wet/dry

Pros

cheaper (only $60 or so for a good one)

can do heavy stains and deep cleaning

probably has other uses

Cons

not sure how it compares to the vac n' blo on dry

not as many attachments to get all the tight spots

no blo function

I'm almost tempted to get both, the vac n' blo for all the normal vacuuming, and also get that wet/dry for just incase i need it to do some real cleaning.

What are your thoughts? Is the wet part a necessity? How good are those at dry? Do most cars need just a quick vacuum or do they need deep cleaning?

For pratical purposes I would just get a good wet/dry vac. The wet/dry can also do interior shampooing (removing water). You will also have a broad range of HP models to choose from in a wet/dry vac for much less than the vac n' blo. And you can get wet/dry vacs with a blower feature.

Don't get me wrong the vac n' blo is a nice vac, but for professional use I would just get a nice wet/dry vac. It can pull double duty and costs far less.

My 2 cents. :bigups

I've got em both and use the Vac N Blo more often but if I were gonna detail for $$ I'd stick with a wet/dry. I use my Vac N Blo as a blower all the time (comes with the little attachments) and HP is less of an issue than inches of lift where the Vac N Blo rules for its size.

Eventhough a wet/dry can be very unwieldy (I used mine yesterday to vac the car and it was a PITA compared to the Vac N Blo) I still think its the better choice for pros and serious amateurs.

I use my Vac 'n Blo for generally cleanup. It works so well and is so easy to handle I vacuum more often. I really like that little bugger.

I also have a Wap wet/dry shop vac (which has almost the same water lift as the Vac 'n Blo) and I use this unit for bigger cleaner and wet work.

If your only going to buy one, you pretty much need the wet/dry in my opinion. The wet is great for sucking carpet foam out of the rug after cleaning.

I have both and my wet/dry has a detatchable motor so it can be used as a blower.

Unless you are going to be mobile, i.e. want to take the vac with you it's my opinion that the wet/dry is the way to go. The blower on the wet/dry is much more powerful than the Vac n Blow and of course you have the wet pickup option.

I bought a long extension hose so I can hang it from the ceiling and reach most anyplace in the garage without having to drag the wet/dry with me.

Ever since I got the Sears Wet/Dry, 6 hp, with detatchable blower and added the 25' extension hose I haven't used my Vac n Blow very often.
