Using Zaino..

I recently came into some Zaino, and read Sal's directions on his web page, but am still kinda confused though.

I have: Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7 and ZFX.. If anyone could be kind enough to either post here, and send me a message over AIM (name: SaschaH0921) with the BEST procedure to use, i would greatly appreciate it!

Well the first thing you would want to to do is make the surface as smooth as possible.

1. Wash the car with dawn.

2. Clay the car down.

3. Wash the car with dawn again.

4. Use a good SWR(3M)

5. Now wash the car with Z-7.

6. Now you would either use Z-2 or Z-5 with ZFX.

On a lighter note with 270 posts you would THINK you would know how to use search, oh well.

Trust me i did.. and i printed out some valuable information.. but msot of it contrdicts itself.. some say use Z2 and Z5.. some say only use Z2 if you have Z1.. it confuses me!! I am a simple man, who uses Klasse.. but want to try Z now..

Cause it's raining.. :(

and the garage gets wet even IF its raining.. so gotta wait for tomm.. im gathering all info so i can get up at 6 am tomm, and start right away..

can i use Z2 AND Z5?

Ok here goes,

Antonio offered a good plan.

1. Wash with regular car shampoo

2. Clay if needed

3. Solve any surface problems such as swirls, minor scratches, etc. etc.

4. Wash with Z-7

Now you are ready to begin the Z process.

Mix 1 ounce of Z-5 with 4 drops of ZFX. Shake well and let sit for 5 minutes.

Shake Well and apply it in a very thin coat onto the Pathfinder. Let it haze for 10-15 minutes. To make sure its fully dried wipe your finger across the haze. If it comes out crystal clear, you are ready to buff off. If it smears/streaks it sill needs time to dry.

After removing the first coat, Z-6.

Then apply another coat of Z-5. Remove then Z-6 again.

If you have enough Z-5 left, do another coat. Then Z-6.

You can only apply 3 coats a day. Any more coats and it should gum up on the surface. Unless you live in a really dry and hot environment which will speed up the curing process.

Most Z users always finish up with a coat of Z-2, so if you have the energy. Do 3 coats of Z-2 and ZFX the next day with Z-6 between coats, or you can just do a single coat of Z-2 (no ZFX) after 24 hours after the last coat of Z-5 with ZFX.

The Z-5 provides a deep/darker shine to cover up swirls in the Z coats. The Z-2 is the other paint product without these filling capabilities.

Maintain with a Z-7 wash and QD with Z-6.

You can apply a single coat of Z-2/Z-5 whenever you feel like it, but ZFX with Z-2/Z-5 every 6-12 months (6 for daily driver, 12 for garage queen.) These two products are interchangable.

A little Z-6 goes a long way and use only 2-3 capfuls of Z-7 for every 4 gallons of water per wash.

Hope this helps,

Jason

:bow JASON!!! you come through for me again!! THAT was the exact explanation for the application illiterate ol' me needed! Thanks buddy. Time to set the alarm clock for 7 am, so i can begin while i watch the sunrise.

As soon as the Md rep calls me..(its been three days..may give up/ someone doesn't want me to Zaino), I wll print this post ...

Always glad to help.

Addition: you may use Z-2 on initial application with ZFX if the paint surface is near perfect.

Jason

PS. Setting alarm clock to 7:30 - work at 8.....

Two more questions that just came to mind..

1) Do i apply or remove any of them with a PC?

2) if NO to applying, then can i apply them with a foam applicator, and remove with a MF towel?
