Using vinyl protectants universally, including on paint

Lightninboy... whats the point to all of your links? All of us are here to learn and help people detail there cars. There are hundreds of products to clean paint. So stick with them. If your trying to push us to to use any of these bogus ideas I think you've come to the wrong place. We are here to promote good auto detailing. Would you use WD40 or Pledge or Spic and Span to wash yourself in the shower? No there are products specified for that. Same deal with autocare.

Just some crappy quotes I picked out while browsing through the links that you'll never see me doing:
"Pledge is one of the best quick detailers available on the market!"
"Buff lard onto the area with sap and wipe with a lint free cloth, such as a cloth diaper or terrycloth towel"
"polishing your car with mayonnaise will also remove sap"
"There is no need for degreaser unless you want to waste more materials" (for engine cleaning)
"On a hot/warm engine, spray the entire engine compartment down with Windex. Close the hood and wait @ 3-5 minutes."
"Murphy's Oil soap is great for cleaning a car "
"Ok here is what I do to clean my engine. I clean it with diesel it makes it shiny and nice looks very clean "

OK now I have to go apoligize to my products for reading about all of these horrible things.

Holy cow!! Enough with the links already. Spraying vinyl protectant on your paint is a fool's errand. I really don't care what website says it's OK. Pouring vegetable oil on your paint will make it shiny too, but not a good long term paint care solution. Using WD40 on your engine bay is not something I would do. I believe I saw a story on the news some time ago about a guy doing this. The spray contacted electrical equipment in the engine bay and . . . BOOM! That guy isn't cleaning anything anymore.

I still haven't lost my touch. :naughtyD It was the return of the naughty that has re-energized my axe. The axings shall continue until morale improves! :D
