Using both Rotary and DA?

If I'm correcting paint its always a rotary, IMO the orbital has little effect in real paint correction. I use the orbital after I've done the paint correction for the last few steps

For me if I am doing a car that has been for the most part neglected then I work with the rotary and follow up with the DA in case there are any trails. For the rest of the cars I stick to my pc.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I've never ran up against something that a DA (specifically my flex) can't handle. If I did more boats or RVs then I would definitely want a rotary for the speed factor, but in my business a DA does the job just fine. I've never felt the need for a rotary.

i like both and most times i grab the da but if i want that extra bling out comes the rotary .. and for paint correction well...... rotary all the way

For the most part this is me these days. I still haven't touched my rotary since I started using the FLEX.

I have both a rotary and a PC but I only do my own cars so seldom have a need for the rotary.

But after wet sanding IMO not even a flex will remove sanding as fast as a rotary.
You run a risk but if you turn the rotary up to high speed it will remove paint fast.

I have both and use what works best with the paint I'm working on. It will also vary depending on the level of correction I'm going for.

No battle, just friendly conversation is all. Its OK that one likes something better than another:D

Exactly. I can't really say that I don't like rotaries since I haven't really ever used one for more than ten minutes. I just haven't ever left a job going, wow... I sure wish I could have used a better tool for that job. But again, if I did boats or RVs all the time, then a rotary would definitely be in the truck. Besides, I charge by the hour, so having a faster machine doesn't really do me any favors now, does it. ;) (i'm totally kidding, of course) (well....sorta totally):notme:
