Using a midly abrasive polish with a cutting pad

...Dreaming on an E92....
My dad had a chrome swingarm put on his Victory Vegas, and while it was in the shop it collected a lot of dust. The morons at the shop must have wiped it down with a paper towel, the marring was rediculous on the tank/rear fender!
I used my Presta 1500 Polish and Megs Cutting pad and worked the polish in at speed 5 on my PC. It removed every bit of marring and cobwebs left in the paint, I was quite impressed!
Did I get great results becuse the marring wasn't too deep, or am I learning how to work these polishes in better, so I'm just getting the resuslts I desire? The most abrasive polish I have is Presta's Ultra Cutting Creme, and this stuff is like liquid sandpaper, it's gritty as heck! It works great with a wool cutting pad when you're removing serious defects though. I've been using it on a lot of my details since it's easy enough to work with, but I'd rather skip a step if I can!

EDIT: Wrong forum, I didn't mean to post here, sorry. If a mod could move it that'd be great
