Uses of the Factory White PC Pad

What can this be used for? I've seen a lot of people say that they never use it, or they threw it away. I am thinking that I'll use it for one of two purposes:

Polishing headlights with Mothers Plastic Polish...or

polishing metal in the engine bay with Mothers mag/alum polish.



Does anyone else actually use the factory pad?

I use it to hold MF bonnets... that's about it... too many stories of flying foam to risk anything else! :lol

Well for these purposes I would use it on 2-3, definitely not 5 or 6.

That's another idea! I don't have any VM as of yet, but I think I'll be getting some soon.

I would use the white pad that came with the pc just as I would use any polishing pad. It is a good pad even though people dont think it is. Think about it, some people like some pads and others dont. its all about you and whether you get good results with it.

I agree. It's a decent pad, but it just isn't going to last vey long. Might as well use it until it shreds.

i actually used it since 1) i didn't have any pads at all; 2) i was dying to try out my new PC; and 3) i had a bottle of Meg's #80 Speed Glaze and my mom's car with swirls. it took a while but it actually was decent enough to remove some of the swirls. but then it fell apart and i had to throw it away.

I use at slow speeds with chemical paint cleaners like Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner and others. Using it on glass sounds like a great idea too.

I recently gave my brother my old PC since he was a beginner. Anyways, it took a while but my wife helped me order a brand new one without even me knowing. She even opened up a new VISA (oh boy) and saved me $30. Little did she know, she also bought me an extra pad and the grand total came under $100.



Though I will have 2 PC pads, I'll put them to good use until one shreads and I'll save the other for glass like mentioned.



Still $100 for a PC7424 and an extra pad from Amazon.com is pretty good.

Use it to polish your washing machine and dryer, or kitchen/bathroom tile.

I used it with to compound the hood of an older car. It did a pretty good job but when I washed it and was spinning it to dry it out on #6, it blew apart.

I should have taken a photo.

Slice it off the backing plate, cut it in two, and use it as a tire swipe. :woot:
