After viewing all the good reviews for Zaino, I wanted to test it out, and after asking last week what I should get, I ordered Z2, Z5, Z6, Z8, and ZFX. Order it Friday, got it on Tuesday. Quick shipping, everything went well, great site to order from as they make available UPS info from the confirmation email.
Ended up using the Z on a family friends silver mettalic (don't know the Nissan name) brand new 350Z. Beautiful car. I started off spraying down with a prep-sol type product to remove any wax the dealership might have used and claying.
I mixed up the ZFX & 1/2 oz Z5, which was easy enough. Spritzed the pad the folks at Zaino sent along and added dime size drop to the pad. It takes some getting used to, as there is dang little on there, mostly just spritzed pad. Went around the car, went in, ate lunch, and came back out and removed. I didn't have to wait, but I needed some lunch, so I did. The Z5 came off so easy I was worried I did something wrong. Not at all like SG, which is a pain. Still had half of the Z5 mix, and after wiping down with Z6, I put on another layer, which went pretty easy. I grabbed a diet sprite, wiped it off, and was happy to see it was even easier. After another layer of Z6, I applied a light coat of Z2. Went on easy, and after letting it set for 20 or 30 minutes, it came off as easy as pie. Applied Z8, buffed off, and was done.
Impressions: This was easy, easy, easy. Don't get me wrong, I have never been a Z Zealot, and was turned off by what I viewed as the cheerleading squad, and besides, I typically go against the grain.
I will tell you that even though its easy, mixing the ZFX and Z2 or Z5 IS an extra step. More of a pain is cleaning up the bottle. Not a huge pain, but extra work never the less. However, I learned something. I was surprised to see when I added Dawn to the bottle, filled with water, let it set, agitated, and rised, you could see the contents still clinging to the bottle. There really is something there that is bonding, cause my SG or AIO would have NEVER clung to the bottle sides like the Z did.
The net result is this product is easier to work with than SG. LOTS easier. I've heard all about "wowo" and whatever, reality is, the Z product goes on easy, comes off easy, and is a joy to use. :2thumbs:
The look was fabulous. I will post pics, but it's hard to see due to the sun and my sub-par skills at photograpy. However, the flake popped, the finish was deep and shiny. I liked it alot.
I will post pics shortly, but I can only say I went from a skeptic to a convert. I am going to try on an older car with miles to see how it works. The Z was new, and how can you make a Z car look bad?
