The Whaler Loves Detail City
Wanted to try something different today on my daughter's silver metallic. I've used Poorboy's ProPolish,Poorboy's Polish with Carnuba, Klasse's AIO and Four Star's UPC in the past. I decided on using Poorboy's SSR1. After washing with Poorboy's SuperSuds and claying I applied SSR1 by hand. Using a foam applicator pad and the ssr I went at the paint. A circular motion was used and some light pressure. I did the roof, trunk and hood before I wiped the ssr off. Although the sun was out and the temps in the high 60's or low 70's the ssr came off very easily. Next I did the passenger side followed by a wipe off then the driver side. As I was wiping off the ssr I just thought how easy it is to buff off. I had to use two applicators as they turned gray with dirt. As clean as the car looked after washing it with SuperSuds and the ClayMagic treatment the metallic really shone through once the SSR1 procedure was completed. The flake was very much in evidence. Not sure about any scratch removal but it did take off some dirt/tar/whatever that the wash and clay didn't. I topped the SSR1 with Vanilla Moose and EX-P+. SSR1 is a very good/nice product.Like the other Poorboy's products that I used this one too delivered. My girl should be very pleased with the outcome.

What a cool dad you are rabbi. Glad to hear it was a good detailing experience for you . Maybe I'll try SSR1 on my silver next time.

Rick,

Nice review!

The above is exactly the reason I like to lightly, but thoroughly clean the paint with a chemical paint cleaner before polishing. I use several terry apps, and a number of towels.

I think it's a good idea to get the imbedded contaminates off "before" I polish.

Bossman many months ago you are the one who told me not to be afraid of using more than one applicator if need be. I thank you my friend.
John, if you're talking about going straight to EX-P+ after the SSR1 yes you /I could. I love the look of Vanilla Moose so therefore I use it whenever I have the time.
Hawaiianelement, try it out and let me know what you think/see.
BTW the car must look good as my daughter not only noticed but complimented me. Tomorrow weather permitting I'll put another coat of EX-P+ on it. Just a sidenote. EX-P+ is ridiculously slick.

I completed my Spring detail on my daily driver last week. I clayed, used SSR1 as a light polish, then went straight to EX-P (the new version). I added a second coat of EX-P a day later. I can honestly say that this combo may very well be my favorite for this particular car (a light grey green metallic BMW), and I have tried A LOT of combos.
