used megs uc for oxidation and swirls

Costco recently had the California Waterblade on sale for $10. I passed that one up though ;).

Is the Pep Boys sale still going on?

I wouldnt know...... we don't have a pep boys here in town

I'd get in on the Water Blade but when I see the car duster on sale I just smile cuz I know it just means more customers that want me to remove swirls that damn thing leaves. I guess if you use it carefully it is ok but use great caution when using it.

Same goes for the waterblade, JBM - if you're very careful, you can get good, scratchless results. Of course - for some, the risk just isn't worth it. I've got a white car, so my fears subside just a bit :D

I'm assuming the Cali Duster at Wally World is the plastic handled one? I've had bad luck with their plastic ones, so I only recommend the original wooden handles. The product works good but the plastic is extremely cheap quality.

the ones I got were the wood handled ones.

I might just have to fight the Wally crowd tomorrow and check this out. That's a great deal on the original "wooden" duster! Good find!

it's not still going on in my area. i went out last night to check another pep boys and the FI was going for $6. but i managed to pick up the last bottle of FI for $3 at another store.

yes they scratch they suck if you have one throw it away its just taking up space, the only thing there good for is for older cars that have been negelected and you would rather use that thing than wash it I will never use one again.................

I use the water blade off and on, sometimes I forget I have it since I always have about 15-20 towels in my car.

If you run your fingers down the blade every time you make a pass you won't have any problems. I bought my blade at the start of last summer and I haven't gotten a scratch ...... yet. I guess it's just getting past the fear of using it. I am sure once you start using it the correct way for a while you will really like it. I like to use it on the hood, doors and roof. With the blade, they are bone dry and it saves me alot of towel time.

Thanks to who ever said it first puterbum i think... anyway i just paid $5.89 for 2 FI bottles...so it may still be on in other areas...until the supply runs out at least.

used megs uc (orange LC pad)for oxidation and swirls

with 7424xp-worked good for half the trunk lid--detailer friend informed me i need to clean off by spinning against a towel or pad wheel to get dry compound off. This way i can keep product and pad working correctly--swirls were coming off nicely in a concentrated (taped off) area. after half the trunk was done didnt seem to work as well for the second half (buildup?)--but sure made short work of the oxidation:hurray::thumbup:

PAD2010, you can call me at PAC on any questions you might have. I'll be happy to help you..................Angelo

Thank You!

ill put u on speed dial hehe--always glad to get a helping hand on tips to stop wasting product or applying proper technique (tricks of the trade) thanks and u will here from me--

You probably had to much build up on the pad. You should either clean the pad more often or use multiple pads on the car.
