Use MF towel to wash ?

I have been recently using one of my JT International microfiber towels to wash the car. I don't think I have come across too many comments here on Autopia that reflects such a use. I really like it as it really leaves the surface very clean. I am careful to use the two-bucket method--to reduce contamination of the bucket with Meg's Gold Class.

Any fears of using MF towels for this???

I always use MF for washing. I bought the plush MF wash mitt from CMA and love the way it glides over the car with the wash soap. I also use the two bucket method.

I just ordered the smaller MF was mitt and hope to compare it to the plush one in the near future.

I think one of the reasons there's not a lot of people using MF for washing is because they don't freely release dirt or grit when rinsed. If your car is not excessively dirty they probably, as you pointed out, work just fine. I differently wouldn't use them if you've got caked on dirt or a build-up of bugs on the front of your car. This is one of the reasons I don't use them. Personally, I like the chenille-covered sponges, even though I have to pull pieces if it out from the trim on occasion.

HellrotCi, yes, for real dirty cars or real dirty areas of a car like the sides where mud gets spattered behind the wheels or the front which has bug build up, then I to use the 100% Terry Cloth chenille covered sponges. I also use a weed spray bottle with 2 gal of my favorite car wash in it with a fan spray nozzle to pre spray off the mud or dirt. Kind of like a mini pressure sprayer.

But for normal every day dust and light dirt cleaning, I use the MF over sponge mitt when I wash. I use it as a wash pad (not as a mitt) and have not had any problems rinsing it out in the clean water bucket. I fold it in half and scrub the sides back and forth together in the water and then ring it out real good.
