UPGP vs... it comes down to durability

Huh?

By your own admission, you add Zaino every month, so it seems you gave a Opti-Seal a one week shot vs probably at least a few layers of Zaino and didn't think the front end had enough protection? Why not add a few more layers of OS to make it a more fair comparison?

What made you think you didn't have enough protection anyway?

he dropped a hammer on the front bumper and it dented it.:getdown

Yeah I like to add zaino a month as i stated, but when I did put OS, I wasn't sure if Zaino and OS will bond, and I don't have anything to top OS with. I'm not sure, but I just went ahead and took off OS and reapplied my Zaino. No doubt that OS gives a deeper gloss in looks.

What I am saying is you should have compared several layers of OS to several layers of Zaino to be fair in terms of protection. Just top OS with more OS.

based on what I've read elsewhere and the pictures posted, I wouldn't be so sure. It seems as if CS might have been reformulated.

That would be great if there's an updated formula, since I have the original version when it first came out.

I know Sal likes to improve in his products... constantly.

Yeah, I should of tried that the first time. Only time I would add layers of OS is on my wheels :)

You can take a look at pictures of my vette, which at this point has 7 layers of UPGP. As for durability, it's been on as long as the product been available, at least a month and I had no problems. I also have kept the car at the jersey shore where you basically drive through a sand storm when ever you drive, and I have seen no swirls develop since its use and it still looks soaking wet.

The only maintenance has been weekly washes with ONR and the Ultima detail spray.

I hope this helps.

Yup, theres been at least 1 new reformulation, if not 2. I still have the old CS :(

Wait. What? Shouldn't you be criticizing Zaino for using their customers as guinea pigs? Meguiars got raked over the coals for tweaking NXT.... :nana:

:grinno:

This shows that competition is good, wouldn't suprise me if all three makers of wipe on and done sealants continually look for ways to outdo each other. :)

LOL. Someone throw the conspiracy flag, quick! :nervous2:

I've noticed improvements in many Zaino products -they just aren't advertised.

I noticed characteristics of Z8 had improved when I re-ordered. Sure enough a formula change. Z16 -same thing.

It's pretty neat to know that when you re-order a product that you already like, that it's likely to have been improved. Zaino doesn't advertise this, which is kind of cool. It also shows that they incorporate customer feedback and continually strive to make products that satisfy a broad audience (novice to enthusiast).

As a consumer, I'm happy to see the bar continue to raise. :hifive:

I guess that's why many other companies use Zaino as a benchmark, and one of many reasons why I continue to invest in the line up.

there is a difference between improving a good product like CS and improving a product because it has poor performance (NXT).

I didn't see any such post?

Digression: I wish Sal WOULD in fact inform us of the versions of his products. Good to know for certain whats what.

I talked to Tony from Zaino and he said that they always release their new and updated product 3 months before they make the announcement.
