UPGP 1st try

UPGP as far as I am aware, does not hide light swirling, it polishes them out.

I would strongly recommend the use of a machine and light to very light cutting pad to when applying UPPP.

However UPPP does leave a sort of primer behind for the Ultima Paint Guard Plus to better adhere to. Does this primer hide minor defects? Possibly, however, I cannot difinitively answer this question. I have not noticed this effect in my experience with UPPP. I do not recommend an isopropyl wipedown in this case due to the loss of the priming effect.

Ultima PGP enhances the finish. Thus it could magnify certain or all kinds of flawed prep work. Get that finish right before applying any sealant or wax. IMO most LSPs are not designed to hide so much as they are designed to amplify and showcase what is below them.

Defects are best removed entirely or in the event that this is not entirely feasable, the use of a glaze might be in order.

If the Ultima folks are reading this, it would be nice if you could clarify this on a professional level.

Thanks.

Thanks.does this process will remove the PGP??i have the DAS and the SFX pads

It will remove that layer of UPGP you applied, but what the heck, UPGP is so easy to apply that you won't be loosing much and IMO, polishing with UPPP will more than make up for it.

That should would work just fine. The paint on Hondas is very soft, so that combo should do it, but give it a try and see. I would take it to speed 6.

Can I do for a light swirled BMW:

Menzerna P085RD via Rotary Green CCS

UPPP (Rotary or PC)?

UPGP x 2 12 Hours apart.

DWG x 2 30 Minutes apart

UPGP x 1?

Seems overkill, but going for the "raved" look Ultima is known to have.

I only have experience applying the UPPP via the PC/UDM. The rest looks fine. Post some pics when you are done.

I just applied the third coat of UPGP after washing my car.I hope that no swirls appears on my soft Honda paint.Pictures will follow after the fourth coat : )

Three seems to be the magic number. Many here (myself included) have found that adding more than 3 coats does not seem to make a difference, but go for it anyway, you might just end up having a different experience. :2thumbs:
