Update on Mazda

In mid December I detailed a friends Mazda and posted the results here.

We had some bad weather with rain, ice, sand on the roads, etc. for a few days following the detail. So I told her I'd give the car a quick wash and wax this week.

The weather warmed up to the 60's on Tuesday so of I went. This is the first time I have gone to someone's house to wash a car! I loaded up my Nissan truck with the supplies I thought I would need. I forgot to bring my camera! :wall

I took a picture with my phone of some very nice beading. But, it turns out my new phone will only allow pictures to be retrieved via a Sprint service that costs 5 bucks a month! Those %^&@(!%$@!

She took a picture after I left and sent it to me:

The point of this rambling post is really to say that the detail I did a couple of weeks ago really helped! the car was easy to clean. I used PB SS&S+Wax. After the wash the car didn't need anything else as the PB EX-P was beading well and looking good. However, I could not help myself! I topped it with a coat of Natty's Red. The Rabbi must have been influencing me. :bow

There is a problem with the detail regarding the trim along the side of the car. It has a brown edge that I could not remove. I took a picture of it for advice from the group but again, the Sprint folks want me to pay to get a picture off my phone! I'll get a picture and post it another time.

Happy New Year everyone!

What phone is it? I may be able to tell you how to get it off.

Samsung Rant. I can get the picture off if I had a bluetooth on my computer, but I don't. Would be great if you know how I can move the picture off the phone!

If you have a card reader......
See if you can save it to your memory card, then just read it in puter.

Thanks. I thought of that after the post. It is a SIM card so I need to get an adapter or a reader that will fit it.

Good idea! Thanks again!

Sprint phones do not have sim cards.. It's a memory card.

Sim cards are for gsm tech. Sprint is CDMA.

It's probably a micro sd or mini sd card.

That's it! a Micro SD!

The phone may have come with an adapter to regular sd. If not, you can buy a micro sd card with adapter for next to nothing at stores like staples etc. Then just use a card reader to get the pic off.

I bow to Ronkh :bow

Brilliant Ronkh, just brilliant! When I read your post about the adapter coming with the phone a light went off in my head. Dim, but still bright enough. :D I recalled there being one in the box and indeed you were right!

Here is the picture of the beading!

Due to the lighting it came out blue, but the car is silver. This beading is from PB EX-P 2 1/2 weeks after applied.

Now for the tough part. Does anyone know what this brown is?

It is along the top of the trim. I was not able to remove it despite scrubbing with: PB APC 1:1 and Klasse AIO. It also did not come off when I detailed the car a few weeks ago and I used the UDM + PB pro Polish and PB PwS. :passout: At the time, i thought it was part of the trim so honestly I did not concentrate on trying to remove it. So, perhaps a dedicated attempt with the UDM and polish?

nice shot :bigups:bigups

I'm not sure that you didn't burn the trim with the UDM ... did you tape it off before polishing?

It was there before I polished it. I didn't notice it when the car was dirty and then I thought it was part of the trim.

It's just the way the molding is.The 07 and up chevy/Gmc trucks do the same thing.I have gave up and will pull it off next week. You have to be careful on that stuff because you can mar(if that's the correct term) it pretty easily.Try bug/tar remover and then clay it.Then try some of that paint work cleanser stuff. Then put wax on it
