Update - #16 on top of VM & EX+P

-The paint looks friggin' awesome.

-Jettas are and always have been FWD, thus having fat rear tires actually hurts more than it helps traction.



-Whether or not you like the 'look' of it is one thing... nobody (or at least not me) is critisizing your personal opinion. What they are saying is the way those tires are stretched they are going to wear very unevenly, hurt your handling, and possibly even pose a safety threat, especially at high speeds.



-I can't believe you got wheels that wide on a Jetta in the first place. Did they have to use some serious spacers or what?

I was kidding about rear wheel drive.



I don't care what people think of my car. They didn't pay for it.



these wheels are made for MKIV VWs. No spacers needed. As I said before, Germans are a little different when it comes to "dressing up" a car. I like the look.



the tires are wearing even. I have over 16000 miles on them.

I don't drive too fast but the car is exremely solid. Handles awesome. I do have a 27mm rear sway bar in the back. I know that helps. The car used to be a show car. wasn't modified to be the fastest VW. If I had extra $$ to waste, I would maybe have the fenders rolled, but as it is, the car looks very good to me. It does look different in person though.



I've seen another Jetta on line with 235s! on a 10.5" wide wheel. Now that is pushing it. If you go to http://www.keskin-tuning.de/ you can see the wheel/tire combo recommended by the manufacturer.



Safety - anything can happen, regardless. Look at firestone tires.



On Meguiar's I posted one picture and so far there are only positive comments.
