Unremovable *something* in wheel wells

Two appologies first, one for not having a picture, and another because this is already posted in another section of the forum. I realized I may get more response here.



So I've got most of my car looking pretty nice, but I have this unidentifyable, unremovable stuff in my wheel wells. I'll try and get a picture of it, but if there is anyone around me (Bristol, RI) I'd appreciate the help finding a way to get it out.



It is mostly white/dirty white in color. I've tried car wash soap, Poorboy's APC diluted and full strength, and also a dab of paint stripper. I just can't get it out.



It isn't a stain, it is something sitting on the surface of the wheel well, it is stuck pretty well though, I have tried chipping it off, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

My wife's car has some amber colored stuff all over her wheel wells. The stuff is also on the rocker panels. I think it is epoxy cement. It is as hard as a rock and will not budge. I bought a can of acetone, but have not tried using it yet. The problem is your tires can pick up all kinds of things and fling it all over the wells. Try and post a pic.
 
Well I am guessing it to be concrete from your description, there is probably a way to remove, but if worse comes to worse and you can't, then you can get a can of semiflat/semigloss black and paint the wheel well.

I'd spray some underbody spray on the area. Be careful as that stuff has a lot of overspray.
 
Perhaps it's highway paint (white and/or yellow) that was picked up at a road construction site. My wife's Buick has some on the wheel wells and it's a pain to get off, primarily because it's annoying little specks that are everywhere. Perhaps a chemical or a soap with good surfacents and elbow grease can get them off.
 
It could be the new stuff they've developed to replace the white paint usually used on roadways. This new stuff is *tough*. I think you're on the right track with the "chipping it off". But it just might be something you have to live with lest you risk "the solution being worse than the problem" ;)

Sorry about all the dirt, it rained out here yesterday and I had to bring my sister to the barn. I outlinted the area of stuff that I Was talking about though. It actually apperas as though some of it has fallen off, it used to be a more solid line. I'll try and get back to this thread after a wash and whatnot.



Midlife: Any particular product you think would work well?

Could be gum, I had that happen from melted gum on a hot road once, a real ***** to get off. Found out ice then ED-40 did the trick.
 
Gum like the stuff you chew? I don't believe that is what it is, there is too much, unless someone was eating an entire pack. It goes all the way around the wheel well, and is thickest at the back.
