Ultrafina or P085rd for finishing

Which one of these finishes down better with a rotary and black pad? I'd like something that virtually guarantees no rotary buffer trails.

Thanks

either one will work great. Most believe UF has a bit more bite than 85rd, so it depends upon how much cut you need in the final polishing.

Theres a bunch of very good detailers here who like and use both. To answer your question, it depends on who you talk to. Pick one and go for it, or buy both, because for every 5 guys who like the Ultrafina, another 5 guys like 85rd.

I don't know about the ultrafine but PO85RD is the finest polish I have ever used period !

Same here.. never tried UF but would never need to after using 85rd

+1.. I would highly suggest buying small samples (4-8oz.), which usually end up being $5-10, from forum members here and trying out a bunch of different stuff

So just so I have my process down correctly. I'd use PO85rd with a black pad after using 106ff with a white pad?

Ultrafina and a blue Ultrafina pad are pretty much goof proof for hologram free finishes provided you are only removing remaining minimal holograms and use at the recommended speeds. The look is incredible too, especially when topped with a good carnauba.

UF user here but have PO85RD on the way for no other reason than trying to change things up. Love the UF but sometimes the sling bums me out when I am only working on a small section.

But like Scott says, the UF isn't really going to clear anything up but very slight buffer trails left over from a 106FF or SIP. I wouldn't suggest going straight from a compound to UF or PO85RD. But most Autopians would never do that anyways!!!!
