Ultrafina and a PC

I see in the product instructions that Ultrafina is for rotary only, can it be used as well with a PC and 4 inch pads? I have never used it but it carries such a high reputation that I would like to try it. I only have a PC with edge pads in orange, green, white and blue. If it will work with a PC what pads do you recomend for a final polish on red and black. (My Mustang is black and my wife's is red) Thanks guys so far this site always comes through.

No one has ever used this with a PC? I just don't want to waste 50.00 bucks if it does not work well. For those who looked thanks, I have done a search and nothing popped up that I could see so I guess that should tell me something, I guess I will try the wolfgang polishes maybe? or the optimum line?

I can't remember the details, but a few people here have used UF with the PC and had good results. Something's gotta come up if you search on it..or at least I'd sure think so.

Ultrafina was designed specifically for use by rotary to remove light rotary swirls left after your mid-grade polishing step. It has a very specific use and I can't imagine it would be worth the price to use with a PC.

I've tried Ultrafina with a Cyclo, and it doesn't work well. I find it works best with the 3M blue pad or a red ccs pad with a rotary only. Most of the 3M product line is specifically designed for rotary usage. It's bodyshop stuff.

I have used UF with a PC and a LC flat blue pad(same as I use by rotary).

The polish will finish down OK, there will be very little cut by PC. It will also take a long time to fully break down the polish. 4" pads may help work it faster. I would use the softest (no cut) pad with UF. It is a final finishing polish that is best used when the car looks perfect already.

UF is great by rotary because it finishes wet, so it is harder to leave trails. With a PC that is little concern.

For final jeweling with a PC I would go with the Menzerna line. FPII (or RD85) would be a great choice.

I have been asking this question in different forums my self, and I think I got my answer.

Thanks!

I have used UF with my PC a few times, while it will remove some very light halos, I find it is not worth using it on the PC. It literrally takes FOREVER to break down and you feel it is not working up to par, it already took a long time on the rotary. But if using a rotary only, I couldnt go without UF, specifically on the blue UK pad. Hope this helps.

No problem.

I think that is just one of those polishes that needs the heat and mechanical action to break down the abrasives, especially because of the use of a no-cut pad.

It will get there, but there are better choices.
