Ultimately UDM detail by KC

Hi, i'm expiramenting with my PC today on my black car. I have the CMA pad kit. I went over the hood which had some bad swirls (and now what appear to be a lot of small rock chips) with the FI-II and the yellow cutting pad. It did a pretty good job cleaning them up... but there are still a lot of noticible swirls. My questions is for my next step should i try that combo with the wool pad? Or should i move to the next more abrasive polish in the 3M group.. (also what would that product be?) I know it won't be perfect.. my paint is trashed (even though the car is barely 2 years old) and only a full repaint will perfect it. But if i got the car to a point where the swirls weren't really noticible i'd like it. (would the blackfire i'm using next cover those up well?) Thanks for the help.

I had pretty good luck using the wool pad and 3M SMR on my black 911. You can run the PC at near full speed with the wool pad, just don't apply more pressure than the weight of the machine. When finished with the wool pad, I suggest a final hand polish using 3M SMR and white cotton tee shirt material (cut off the arms, collar, and any other stitching). This is what I use when repairing rock chips. It brings up the gloss very quickly.

whenever after any 2 x 2 feet area clayed - we should stop & check for any Visible sighted contaminants - such as tars, dust, sands or brake dust

Failing to do such - you might transferred A to B & contaminate another area with scratches..etcs...

SWIRLS is usually inflicted by our habits & the wrong way of handling washing , also techniques (wrong way of shampooing - circulating) & material used - such as sponges, worn out mitts/microfibers, drying cloth - cotton cloth - old rags, old t-shirts, jeans la....etcs...as our clear coat is only 2/1000th part of an inch

therefore I make it a point to change my Microfibers once every 3-4 months to prevent

after much careful paint corrected & re-inspected - all over again & again prior coating- as opti coat becomes a permanent part of the ride new paint system

Opti-Coat provide a superior clear coat film that is highly resistant to chemical etching, harder than factory clear coat to reduce swirls and scratches, and a permanent hydrophobic surface that is easier to clean and stays cleaner for longer. as it does not get degrade and cannot be removed by chemicals such as cleaners wash or even degreasers

5. OPC (optimum power clean)
6. Clay
7. T.I.M.E ( the most expensive part of car detailing) - 24 hours ++ over span of 2 days...

I know that you love the Hyper Spray Compound and Polish, but how do you deal with those lousy sprayers that they come with? I have had nothing but problems with them.

I agreed with you - as much as i struggles ....eventually i feel in love with the spray tech - the trick is loosing the nozzle head & have it puff on our pads while spinning slowly (it prevent from splattering all over)

that is the reason Doc G has replace all the nozzle head lately
