What a long, but fascinating read...



That thread is like the "perfect storm" of pwnage.



For all those variables to come together at one time in one place makes that a truely historic event.



A) you have the villain of villains (a man everyone can hate without remorse)

B) the web is filled with years worth of actual info about the guy (name, address, license plate #'s, photos, owned domain names, etc..) the best part is he used all his real info without security to data what-so-ever.

C) the poor guy really is an idiot, he's consitant in being an idiot (which is important) and he doesn't know when to shut his mouth. Just when you think he couldn't dig himself in any deeper, he does just that...

D) Timing...over the holiday break when everyone has free time to contribute to the cause of owning Nick



simply amazing...
 
Without the pedophile part, it would not have gone quite as far. I don't think he's quite as bad as they make him out to be. He's doesn't appear to be one of the hanging-around-the-playground types.



But I don't feel sorry for him at all, it's just that he's too stupid to know what is good for him. He must not have had very good parents at all...

It's quite obvious the guy is a joke but I am beginning to wonder if this guy might be some kind of elaborate creation to increase page views...? Is that possible? If it is, how did those profiles of him as a sexual predator come about?
 
The pedophilia jokes from that thread are the funniest but I also think he's not the kind of pedophile we think of hanging around playgrounds looking at little 5 year olds. He tapped a 15 year old. How many guys here wouldn't tap a hot 15 year old chick if it wasn't against the law or there was no way you'd ever get caught? We all laugh when we watch "To Catch a Predator" and part of the hilarity is because we weren't the ones caught. A majority of them are normal guys like us. In a sick and twisted way, we love getting a laugh out of it at someone else's expense.



At first I used to enjoy watching how these guys reacted when they were caught but it got old quickly. NBC with its ratings down began to just focus on the "To Catch A Predator" series and IMO, that's no different than how Jerry Springer went from a regular talk-show to one that was all trash, all the time. NBC lost all their news reporting credibility to me, especially after they fired Stone Phillips. Maybe if they focused on reporting real news they wouldn't be in the position they're in.



There's the old saying "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt". On the NBC series, a guy actually ended up committing suicide as he knew police and TV cameras had surrounded his house. While I'm still cracking up reading that thread, there's a small part of me that's actually beginning to feel sorry for the guy. In a way, his life is ruined. He might as well move to Thailand!
 
I can't feel sorry for him, though. Every time I begin to, as many others have, he comes back and says something stupid. It's pretty hard to feel sorry for a guy like this.
 
This only make me realize how large, influential, and international internet forums have become. Kinda scary if you ask me.
 
Yeah, I know. It makes me want to delete every photo of me and those close to me. I always wondered why it was so important to bleep out license plates...

you can't help but laugh with the sarcastic comment(s) chris hansen has whenever he walks out of the backroom and greets them. like with the stereo installation guy with the silver modded ultima, chris hansen walks out and says IIRC, "that's quite a car you got out there" LOL :D . but seriously, many who are caught (servicemen, cops, etc.) their lives are basically ruined and that's just dealing with their profession and not even their families just yet...
