ultima questions

Yes the Ultima Paint Car Prep will remove your old wax and is a great prep for Ultima Paint Guard Plus. UPPG is a very to use Wipe Off Walk Away (WOWA) sealant. Just remember thin is in. You should only need about one spritz per panel once your applicator is primed.

I have used the UPGP for a few years. It is a very easy coating to use but you need to remember you can not place it on too thin. The first time I used it I used too much. It left some host streaks on my black paint. They were easily removed with the untima QD after the sealant had cured. I usually do 2 thin coats to ensure 100 percent coverage and then wait 12-24 hrs and do another 2 coats. After that I would apply it as you need it based on the protection. The beading is not what you would expect. But the protection is great. Nothing sticks to the coating and the sheeting/loose beading helps reduce water spotting.

The paint prep will remove lap, I would wash and clay before the the paint prep.

I play around with a lot of sealants. This is a great product and the easiest I have ever used. It has excellent optical clarity. Just make sure like anything else you do you prep work well as the end results are what you expect.

Good luck

I also have been told the the paint prep has a bonding agent in it to help the UPGP bond better! That are both very good products!
