Hi Guys,

I`ve read a lot of the forum, but a lot of your posts either refer to the use of the electric buffer or compounds I am not able to get over here.

I`ve got a problem with swirl marks. The car recently had some paint work done by a garage, after an insurance claim over a dented bumper (fender). I didnt get chance to wash the car before it went to the dealership for a service. Whilst it was there, they washed it, so I am now left with a car that is covered in swirl marks and I dont know if it is the dealership or the people who did the painting who are responsible. Neither are admitting it was them, so I need to fix it myself.

I am willing to have a go and do it by hand.

I`ve taken a photo of various cleaning / polishing products I have aquired over the years. Some was for older cars, I even aquired some machine cutting compund, although I dont know why. !

As you can see, I`ve got quite a lot of Zaino stuff, Z2Pro, Z5, Z6 and Z8 Grand Finale. I imported that myself from the US. Usually my car is kept spotless, so I`m gutted at the moment, but these marks are not what I`ve ever dealt with before.

The T-Cut and T-Cut Colour Fast are from a previous black Car I had when I didnt know a great deal about car care.

The marks on the bonnet (hood) are probably after the insurnace work, to machine rub a mark out of the paint, the other swirl marks, i`m not sure..

I tried a little of the T-Cut Colour Fast and T-Cut, but they end up with swirl marks too. ie, if I T-Cut vertically, I then end up with new swirl marks running vertically. I`m guessing they are not deep but they are damn annoying

They also only show up in bright sunlight.

Anyway, here is the car:

To get those marks out properly and without killing yourself you'll need to machine polish. Where are you in the UK? There are many members here from the UK and they're very skilled. I'd see if they can help you out, you might have to do a bit of driving but it'll be worth it.

I`m in Yorkshire, near Huddersfield / Leeds.

You dont think I can hand rub them out ? bummer...

OK, UK guys, anyone able to offer me advice please?

p.s. Those marks are not usually that visible, I had to get the angle just right and mess with the camera exposure to get them to really show up that much..

Wh00sher,

Its a common problem that many bodyshops dont seem to go the extra mile and finish the job properly.

Give me a bell if you want to get the car as you would like.

I`ll send you a Pm.

I`m based near Diggle(5 mins from Marsden so I`m not a million miles away.)

Cheers

Mark
