Ugggghhhhhh

Wax Waster
Story behind this:

'O5 Ford Escape with 75,000 Miles. Never had anything more than wax. Of course lots of automatic car washes. agghhh So the hood was a messsss.

This belongs to one of my closest frinends fiance'. We've been promising her we'd do it for ages. Lat week they were at Lebanon Valley for the races. The people next to them were firing off fireworks, so there was tons of fallout from that as well as mud and road dirt.

No before pics cus I forgot. No pics of different angles since we were at a secret location. (patrick should understand)

Hood alone took over an hour and 2 orange pads and 3 or 4 passes with 2.5 as I gummed up the first pad.

The smudge you see in one pic is as she was putting doen the wax tub for me, she saw dust and was trying to move ti. It turned out to be a bug. :wall

Wash = Dawn
Clay = PB clay + PB spray and wipe
re wash pb slick suds
scratch and swirl = ssr 2.5 + ornage x 2 on hood x 1 one rest of car. For rest of car sprayed 1 spray of s&w on pad as weee
SSR 1
LSP = Natty's Red

secret location :hmmm: were you somewhere you didn't belong :idea

Ron,

Nice work...when you have something like that to work on...I make sure to clean the pad every other pass, I have a pad brush for that...keeps it from gumming up....also a pass or two with a paint cleaner like PP would have helped to clean the surface before starting with the SSR process

Even after clay then after wiping off with mf and then usng s&w to get the dust off ?

pp = pro polish ? use with an applicator or with the same pad that I am correcting with?

Yes PP is pro-polish

I use a polishing pad for this, helps to clean up the oxidation on the surface...if the surface is real bad...I don't clay straight to paint cleaner...then to clay if I think it needs it...abused finishes like you had there require a different approach IMO

Ok. THanks for the tip.
