Twinkies no more?

PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?
guess its old news, but hostess is no more. i never craved twinkies, but guess they have a following. 2-box on e-bay for $60. :rofl read they are going to sell the formula to the highest bidder.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. I was at Target the day they announced it and the Hostess section was wiped out.

I would like to see the full story. It has already started as the usual finger pointing: greedy unions or greedy management/vulture capitalists.

I am sure the brand names are worth plenty and will continue.

Talk about a sucker being born every second!! :passout:
From your favorite FleaBay.....

Eh, they currently make the same snack in other brands that are essentially the same thing...

I haven't seen the story but it was being talked about at work and the person that said this is pretty news informative. He said that in order for Hostess to keep running everyone had to take a 12% or 13% cut including management to keep the doors open. Management agreed to take the cut but in order for it to work the workers also had to agree. Well the union stepped in and said no and the decision was to close up shop.

I am sure if you Google it there should be news stories on it. I can't say if I will ever miss the cupcakes and Twinkies, it is just they don't have them in the one vending machine we have at work and I rarely buy junk food when shopping for groceries.

Dean.

It's been on the news here a lot since it was a local company.

The company had some mismanagement that caused them to file for bankruptcy a few years ago and and again this year. To try to right the ship the workers to take a pay cut and cut some benefits. The workers went on strike and that caused the company to close. So instead of less pay now they get no pay. Kind of sad to see an old company like this close.

I know a pay cut isn't something anyone would want but I'd rather have the then no job at all.

I'll miss Dingdongs and Twinkies and a few others. When I was little I always would get their apple pies or honey buns when my dad would stop a the gas station. Heck sometimes he will still bring me one when he stops. Guess those days are gone. Too bad people wouldn't clear the shelves when they weren't closed or it would have been a non issue. It's funny how a junk food company closes when Americans seem to love the stuff

of course, now that I see a picture of it on ebay, I want it for the first time in my life! What is wrong with me? lol

no wonder autopia/AG makes a killing off of me lmao

I love twinkles. I went to my local Walmart yesterday and the shelves were cleared !!!! Bring back "The Twinkies " !!!!

Someone told me twinkies never went bad. Is this true?

Another person I heard was going through their camping gear and found a half loaf of Wonder bread that had been in there for 8 months ........ it was still fresh/no mold!

Ho Ho's Rule !!! :rockon

Twinkles the one thing that was suppose to survive a nuclear disaster, is gone for now.

Well played Mayans. Well played....

for you Hostess people looks like you will have to switch to Little Debbie's snack cakes until someone buys up the rights.

All this Twinkies talk I could go for one right about now. I really can't even remember the last time I had one. When I was growing up we couldn't afford Twinkies. My Mom always bought the cheaper alternative, Zingers.

Some people may think that's a bad thing. But at my age I need all the preservatives I can get.:(
