Brand new here, no idea how to detail a car properly, at least i dont think i dont.

Anyway, has anyone ever used/heard of that product that used to be on TV that was like, laser proof. Its called Dura Shine.

Yup. Heard of it. My question is: Why would you want your car to be laser proof? Are you in an area that is frequently bombarded by lasers? Is this in preperation for some alien invasion and you want to be safe in your car? I just don't understand...

I've seen those products that are "fire proof" and "laser proof." I heard a story once about how a guy was at a car show and they were pouring lighter fluid on a car and lighting it. They said that it was proof that their product made the paint impervious to harm from even fire. The guy watching this asked if he could see the lighter fluid. He poured some on his hand and lit it. Since it burns too fast to actually cause any harm to his hand he held out his burning hand and asked if his hand lotion could be protecting his hand like their car product protected their paint.

Things like that burn off too quickly to actually cause any damage. Have you ever tried starting a fire with lighter fluid? The wood that the gas is on usually isn't the wood that lights on fire first. Its usually the wood and stuff that is piled on top. The ligher fluid isn't burning anything underneath it. That just goes to show that these products that protect your car from fire are just a bunch of hype. There are plenty of other products that have proven that they outshine these hyped up "laser blocker" products. lol

P00Man. Welcome to Autopia!

About 5 years ago I tried that product and its as good as any other as seen on tv product. (You be the judge of that) If you are new to detailing, I suggest you pick up the E-Book. Its a great resource and will answer most of your questions.

Jngrbrdman...you are too funny...I've been telling that to people for so long too...If your car is on fire the last thing you're worried about is the paint and if you're being attacked by lasers ,,just bend over and kiss...........goodbye....gimmicks are for carnivals
