Turtle Wax Wash Mitts?

Yes I have searched, (and searched, and searched), and I still can't find a definite answer as to the quality of the Turtle Wax chenille wash mitts. Our local Target has a bunch of these left and I expect to see a clearance sale soon. Are these true cotton?

I don't feel real comfortable setting one of their wash mitts on fire to check the ash residue. They also have lots of the chenille covered sponges left as well. I could use a few of each if they are any good.

Also, if someone has some suggestions as to how they would find the answer by using the search feature, I would love to hear them. PM me with the search info.

I think someone once said they found out they weren't, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Here's what I do. Chenille stuff has at least a couple chenille strands that are loose or just sitting on top. Sometimes they're lying inside the mitt. I just take one of these and burn them later in the comfort of my home. I don't feel bad about doing this because I'm NOT yanking one out, just picking up a loose strand that would've come out anyway.

I actually really liked my Turtle Wax mitt. It lasted for a really long time. The only reason I had to retire it was because the elastic wrist band came undone at the seam. Other than that I would give that mitt 4 stars. :up

Since setting things on fire is not necessarily my strong point, this observation may have little or no value.

I bought a Turtle Wax mitt and stole some loose strands from a chenille covered sponge. The mitt was labeled on the cardboard sleeve as cotton, the chenille sponge was not. After burning a strand from the mitt and a strand from the chenille sponge, I don't think they are 100% cotton. Both strands seemed to kind of curl up and formed a fairly hard ball of residue, when burned. My understanding was that cotton would burn to a powdery, grey ash. They definitely did not do that. However, based on Jngr's experience, I will probably try the mitt on the vehicle body before I move it to wheel duty.
